Patent number: 5479757Abstract: A label supplying apparatus for quickly supplying the labels such as the certificate labels to the mouths of the bags filled with the livestock feed and the like. A label stored in a label magazine is attracted under suction by a suction cup, and removed from the label magazine. The removed label is guided to drop into a label receiver, from which the label is delivered by mating scrum belts to a position where it is applied to the mouth of a bag that has been conveyed by a first guide-and-feed mechanism composed of a pair of V-belts. The mouth of the bag and the label are then conveyed by a second guide-and-feed mechanism composed of a pair of V-belts to a sewing machine, which then stitches the mouth of the bag and the label to each other.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1994Date of Patent: January 2, 1996Assignee: Newlong Machine Works, Ltd.Inventor: Koji Ogawa

Patent number: 4915679Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a pleated multi-layer bag, a tubular synthetic resinous film collapsed flatly, with each side edge of the film folded inwardly to form a pair of pleats extending along the side edge, is laid upon a length of an outer-layer bag material. The film and the bag material are transported while one of the pair of pleats at each side edge of the film is set upright to form an upstanding section. Subsequently, opposite side portions of the outer-layer bag material are folded back toward the tubular synthetic resinous film. The upstanding section is folded down toward the other pleat. A part of each of the opposite side portions is forced into a space between the upstanding section and the other pleat at a corresponding one of the opposite side edges of the tubular synthetic resinous film. The opposite side portions of the outer-layer bag material are folded over the tubular synthetic resinous film in such a manner that the opposite side portions extend along the outer surface of the film.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1988Date of Patent: April 10, 1990Assignee: Newlong Machine Works, Ltd.Inventor: Toyokichi Gotou

Patent number: 4850718Abstract: A paper bag is formed from a single sheet of paper by folding the same to produce a final generally rectangular bag or receptacle with an open end. The upper edge portion around the bag opening is folded in and glued to provide greater strength thereat. During the folding and glueing of this opening strength turned-in collar, two carrying handles are also glued in, one on each of the bag's largest sides. According to this invention, a corner portion at one end of the turned-in collar portion is cut out and enables glueing thereat to an inner surface rather than the typically smoother outer surface of the paper, thereby providing improved strength to the reinforced opening of the bag.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1988Date of Patent: July 25, 1989Assignees: Newlong Machine Works, Ltd., New Pack Company, Ltd.Inventors: Toyokichi Gotou, Masami Fujishiro

Patent number: 4790804Abstract: A lapel provided at the one end of a paper sheet to forming a paper bag is introduced into the interior of an opening on the rotary cylinder by means. The folding blade has a rotational axis located outside the rotary cylinder parallel to an axis of rotation of the rotary cylinder. The thus bent lapel is brought in pressure contact with the edge face of the opening by means of a holding pawl which turns in operative association with the rotary cylinder. Thereafter, the lapel is covered and depressed by means of a depressing pawl which turns in operative association with the rotary cylinder whereby the lapel and a part of the paper sheet are adhesively secured to one another to build a double-walled structure around the opening of the paper bag.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1987Date of Patent: December 13, 1988Assignees: Newlong Machine Works, Ltd., New Pack Company, Ltd.Inventors: Toyokichi Gotou, Masami Fujishiro
