Abstract: A method for using a lockable storage container includes the steps of moving the lock from a locked position to an unlocked position while the lock is carried by the container. An indicator is used to indicate the status of the lock to the user. The lock is held in the unlocked position so that it cannot accidently move back into the locked position. A magnetic key is used to unlock the lock and move the lock slide to the unlocked position.

Abstract: A security storage container includes a base and a lid that define a concave indentation when the lid is closed. A lock having at least a first lock finger is adapted to lock the lid in the closed position. The lock finger of the lock extends into the concave indentation when the lock is locked to the container. The lock includes spaced apart walls that are configured to overlap portions of the base and lid to prevent the lid from being opening when the lock is in the locked condition.

Abstract: The present invention provides a security device and method for securing a media case. The security device may include a hinged pair of closure members, which when closed define a substantially rectangular aperture for receiving a media case to be secured with a close fit. The closure members include an internal protrusion that extends within a portion of the substantially rectangular aperture that coincides with a finger cavity portion of a media case. The closure members include a latch opposite the side including the internal protrusion.
Abstract: A lockable media storage box and lock and key combination includes a box having a base and a lid hingedly connected to the base and movable between opened and closed positions. A locking mechanism is movable between locked and unlocked positions to lock and unlock the container. The lock includes lock pins that slide through aligned lock holes in the base and the lid.

Abstract: A lockable media storage container includes a lock disposed within the lock reception cavity defined by the container. The lock may be moved from a locked position to an unlocked position while remaining disposed within the lock reception cavity. In one embodiment, the lock locks itself in the unlocked position so that it cannot accidently move back into the locked position. The lock includes a plurality of lock hooks extending from a common lock frame. A lock finger also extends from the common lock frame. The lock finger holds the lock in the locked position. A magnetic key is used to unlock the lock and move the lock slide to the unlocked position.

Abstract: A locking device for a disc retaining hub includes a base and a head that lock together over the hub to lock a disc on the hub until a portion of the locking device is destroyed. The head or the base of the locking device includes locking fingers that allow the head and base to lock together in a one-way snap fit connection. The locking mechanism may also cooperate with the disc retaining hub to lock itself to the hub. The locking mechanism prevents the disc from being removed from the hub until the locking mechanism is destroyed by the user.
