Abstract: A hydrotreating and isomerization pre-treatment process in a biofuel production plant, which is characterized in that it occurs from a raw supply consisting of an organic feed comprising secondary materials such as frying oils, category 1 animal fats, residual oils or by-products consisting of monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides and free fatty acids, which is added to a recycling stream consisting of a mixture of mono-, di- and triglycerides free of impurities and exiting an esterification unit, said process occurring by means of hydrolysis with excess water, under controlled pressure and temperature conditions, thus obtaining the partial or total conversion of the supply into glycerol and fatty acids, the excess water introduced into the hydrolysis process acting as a solvent for impurities of various nature present in ionic form, thus removing most of the heavy metals, as well as of the chlorides present in said supply.
Abstract: An autocatalytic process for producing fatty acids from fatty acids methyl esters with an overall conversion higher than 90% which includes multiple hydrolysis reactions in series, in purely thermal conditions, with intermediate separation of phases after each hydrolysis reaction and before the subsequent, operating in excess of water, in order to separate the methanol/water phases from the equilibrium phase and favor the formation of fatty acids product.

Abstract: Process for the conversion of plastics to olefins comprising the following steps: A) gasification of the plastics to synthesis gas by reaction of the plastics with pure oxygen; B) catalytic conversion of the synthesis gas produced in stage A) to methane in at least three successive stages, in each of which hydrogen is added; C) catalytic conversion of the methane produced in stage B) into olefins by the oxidative coupling reaction of methane; and D) separation of the olefins produced in stage C) from other compounds present in the reaction mixture of said stage C).
Abstract: Disclosed is a catalyst suitable for the catalytic oxidative cracking of a H2S-containing gas stream. The catalyst comprises at least one or more active metals selected from the group consisting of iron, cobalt, and nickel, supported by a carrier comprising ceria and alumina. The active metal is preferably in the form of its sulphide. Also disclosed is a method for the production of hydrogen from a H2S-containing gas stream, comprising subjecting the gas stream to catalytic oxidative cracking so as to form H2 and S2, using a catalyst in accordance with any one of the composition claims.
