Abstract: An inter-working network includes a plurality of interfaces for facilitating communications with a plurality of dispatch networks, a signaling controller, a media gateway and a system for facilitating the monetization of inter-carrier dispatch communications. The signaling controller and media gateway generate dispatch call records for dispatch sessions facilitated through the inter-working network. The system includes a billing accumulator and a settlement entity. The billing accumulator is interfaced with the inter-working network and includes logic to receive and store the dispatch call data records from the inter-working architecture. The settlement entity is interfaced with the billing accumulator, and includes settlement logic for converting each stored dispatch call data record to a billing record for each of at least two of the dispatch networks.
Abstract: Systems and methods for scheduling audio and/or visual content for recording using a mobile station are provided. A mobile station can display a content guide listing audio and/or visual content. When a dispatch button is depressed, a request for recording of the audio and/or visual content which is currently selected is sent to a server. The server forwards the request to a television device, which schedules the recording of the selected audio and/or visual content. Reminder messages regarding upcoming audio and/or visual content can be sent to the mobile station. If a dispatch button of the mobile station is depressed when the reminder message is being displayed, a request to record the audio and/or visual content identified in the reminder message is sent to the television device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for supporting group communications are provided. A group list management server (GLMS) stores communications group definitions in documents, such as extensible mark-up language (XML) documents. The communications group can include communication addresses for different types of communication applications, including electronic mail, voice telephone, data, instant messaging, voice dispatch, short messaging service (SMS), and multimedia service (MMS). Various methods for joining communications groups are provided.
Abstract: A fiber optic cable topology for a fiber optic repeater distributed antenna system network and a method of configuring the network using the topology is disclosed. The topology includes a first base transceiver station hub, a second base transceiver station hub, and a fiber optic backbone coupled between the first base transceiver station hub and the second base transceiver station hub, where the fiber optic backbone includes a plurality of optical fibers. A distributed antenna system repeater node is coupled to the first base transceiver station hub and the second base transceiver station hub. An optical fiber of the plurality of optical fibers in the fiber optic backbone includes a first portion and a second portion, where the first portion extends between the first base transceiver station hub and the DAS repeater node and the second portion extends between the second base transceiver station hub and the DAS repeater node.

Abstract: A system and method for sharing a forward link time slot are disclosed. Information being sent to each user sharing a time slot in a 1× evolution data only (1×EV-DO) frame is assigned a number of Walsh codes and allocated an amount of transmit power. The total amount of transmit power used by a base transceiver station for a time slot is divided among the users. The number of Walsh codes and amount of transmit power assigned to each user sharing a time slot can be based upon the RF conditions being experienced by the user.
