  • Patent number: 10356516
Abstract: A bone conduction microphone device that registers speech signals from a user. The microphone device includes a housing having an abutment or contact part, which has a central axis substantially parallel to a predetermined distal direction and a predetermined proximal direction. The abutment, during use, abuts against and is in vibratory contact with tissue of a head or neck of the user, and receives, during use, vibrations, representing a speech signal and propagating through at least a part of the user's tissue or bone structures in the head or neck when the user is speaking. The housing further includes or is connected to at least one sealing element, which substantially or at least partly encircles the abutment or contact part about the central axis.

  • Patent number: 9628964
Abstract: The present invention relates to communications systems incorporating peripheral devices such as a push-to-talk (PTT) or similar and interface cables to connect these to a headset and/or a communication device such as a man worn two-way radio, vehicle intercom system, mobile phone, etc. In particular, the invention relates to such interface cable having an integrated functionality. The basic idea of the invention is to use an interface between a first and a second device in a voice communication system, which interface is specific to the second device and holds digital information allowing the first device to identify or adapt to the second device. This allows the first device to automatically adapt its settings and/or functionality to, and thus to function with, several different second devices without any need for updating, re-configuration, or user intervention.

  • Patent number: 8705787
Abstract: A custom in-ear headset. The headset includes a housing having a proximate housing portion and a distant housing portion. The distant housing portion is shaped and sized to fit inside an ear canal of a user. The headset includes a miniature speaker that is acoustically coupled to a sound outlet in the distant portion of the housing for conveying sound pressure to an ear canal of the user. The headset further includes any one or more of: (a) a microphone with a sound inlet in the proximate housing portion, (b) a bone conduction microphone arranged in the distant housing portion, or (c) a microphone with a sound inlet in the distant housing portion. The headset further includes at least one ridge projecting from and circumscribing the distant housing portion.
