    Abstract: A camshaft structure has shaft portions made of metal and which are axially aligned with each other. Ceramic cam portions are axially sandwiched between adjacent shaft portions. A thin layer of brazing alloy is arranged between adjacent surfaces of the shaft portions and cam portions so as to integrally bond the portions together to provide a high ridigity structure.
