Abstract: [Problem] To provide a fish sedating device capable of reliably energizing and sedating fish to satisfactorily perform a slaughter operation. [Solution] The fish sedating device includes fish placement means 3 on which fish F can be placed, electrodes 4a and 4b that energize the fish F placed on the fish placement means 3 through high-resistance water in a state present on the fish placement means 3 and having a higher electrical resistance than that of the fish, and a power source that supplies electricity to the electrodes 4a and 4b.

Abstract: [Problem] The present invention makes it possible to maintain the original function of a marine material when used in the state of being submerged in seawater or freshwater and also when stored or stocked in air before use, and also prevent marine pollution after use. [Solution] A constituent element of the marine material, which is used in the state of being at least partially submerged in seawater or freshwater, is made of a resin containing polylactic acid (PLA) and polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT). As a result, when the constituent element is used in the state of being at least partially submerged in seawater or freshwater, and also when stored or stocked in air before use, hydrolysis in the constituent element is suppressed, while when it has landed on the seabed or riverbed after use, hydrolysis is promoted.

Abstract: The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention for treating sudden deafness containing, as an active ingredient, isoflavone aglycone derived from soybean germ can be used to prevent sudden deafness in humans by manifesting an action that is effective in treating disease in humans. The pharmaceutical composition for treating sudden deafness of the present invention is characterized in that it contains a product that is an isoflavone aglycone concentrate and is obtained by fermenting soybean germ, that is a raw material, using koji mold thus decomposing proteins; then executing hydrolysis thereon; and extracting and concentrating a resulting product using a solvent.

Abstract: An arteriosclerosis-preventing material, immune-activating material, vertebrate that has eaten these, and eggs of such vertebrate. Such materials are produced by inoculating koji mold on a pulse crop to effect koji preparation and adding water to a product of the koji preparation, thus hydrolyzing proteins and/or saccharides contained in the product of said koji preparation and by utilizing the activity common to lactic acid bacteria naturally contained in the starting materials and lactic acid bacteria that is added to the product of the koji preparation. The process is capable of simply preparing the above-mentioned product in a large amount at a low cost. Heretofore, such products as the product of the present invention have not been provided at all.

Abstract: A process for preparing a product from a pulse crop as a starting material and a food containing the product prepared from a pulse crop as a starting material are disclosed according to the present invention, thereby enabling a food, a livestock feed, an aquacultural feed or the like to be efficiently prepared, which is made from a leguminous crop or a defatted product thereof or the like, which has excellent carcinopreventive and carcinostatic activities, osteoprosis therapeutic effect and immunosuppressive effect, and which can be ingested in a sufficient amount, and thereby enabling a wholesome food such as a biscuit having the above-mentioned excellent pharmacological activities. Any conventional product made from a pulse crop does not have such excellent pharmacological activities and a process for preparing the same is poor in efficiency.

Abstract: A process for preparing grain products to use as foods, livestock feeds, aquacultural feeds. The grains used are soybean, rice, barley, wheat, oats, rye and corn, and defatted products or brans thereof, and the like and which are extremely excellent in digestion efficiency. Conventional products made from a grain are poor in digestion efficiency, and processes for preparing such products are also poor in efficiency. One of the main features of the process resides in that phytic acid in a grain is hydrolyzed removed to obtain a product having high digestion efficiency.

Abstract: A towable Otter Board having upstream facing flap portions is disclosed for use in trawl fishing applications. The flap portions are used to divert fluid flow from the concave lower board surface to the upper convex board surface which serves to shift a vortex formed proximate the upper board surface further downstream to a position closer to the trailing edge of the board which provides considerable improvement over the prior art by decreasing drag and increasing lift. A single wing and bi-plane version of the board is disclosed.
