Patents Assigned to Nickson Industries, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5073353
Abstract: A replacement flange for the end of a catalytic converter is provided by a pair of generally L-shaped coupling elements which have their base portions opposed and seated in an elongated channel element which permits one coupling element to slide therein relative to the other. The opposed edges of the flange coupling elements are generally arcuate to fit about the end pipe of the converter and have recesses to seat the flanges on the sides of the converter body. Assembly is effected by mounting one coupling element to the automobile support structure about the converter end and then sliding the other coupling element sideways into engagement therewith and mounting it to the support structure.

  • Patent number: 4519639
Abstract: A split flange for coupling flanged pipes of an exhaust system of the like includes a pair of laminated clamp members of arcuate configuration each comprised of at least three sheet metal arcuate segments which are staggered in overlying relationship so as to provide end portions in which laminae are spaced apart. The end portions of the two clamp members are interfitted and are provided with aligned apertures through which fasteners extend for assembly of the two clamp members and with an associated clamping element to clamp the flanged pipes together.

  • Patent number: 4465252
Abstract: A compact, universal hanger for tailpipes and the like includes an L-shaped mounting bracket having a horizontal leg for mounting on the horizontal surface of a vehicle frame or the like and an aperture extending along the intersection of its legs. A pair of resiliently deflectable straps are pivotably mounted to the depending leg of the bracket, and the aperture in the horizontal leg provides clearance for free pivoting of the strap disposed thereunder. At the lower end of the strap is pivotably mounted a U-shaped support bracket, and pivotably secured to the web of the support bracket is a hanger bracket for supporting a pipe clamp.

  • Patent number: 4363436
Abstract: A saddle member for a saddle clamp has a generally U-shaped cross section and is made from a flat sheet metal blank by a series of folding, punching and welding operations. In the finished saddle member, generally parallel side walls are spaced apart and have arcuate free ends. A base extends between the side walls opposite the free ends, and end walls extend between the side margins of the side walls. The end walls include flanges on the side walls and the base and weldments that extend along substantially the entire lengths of the side-wall flanges to provide end walls that form continuous surfaces with both the side walls and the base.

  • Patent number: 4209155
Abstract: A hanger assembly for an exhaust pipe includes a bracket with a U-shaped body member that terminates in oppositely extending flange portions. The legs of the body portion have closed apertures that receive the bight member of a U-clamp. The closed configuration provides added strength and reduces the likelihood that the clamp will slip out of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4004768
Abstract: A pipe hanger adapted to support automobile tailpipes and the like comprises a support member with one end portion disposed between and pivotably mounted to end portions of a pair of flexible strap members. The other support member end portion is adapted for mounting the hanger to a support surface such as the auto chassis. A U-shaped bracket straddles and is pivotably mounted to the other end portions of the strap members. Hanger means including an arcuate support portion for a complementarily configured pipe clamp is pivotably mounted to the web of the U-shaped bracket for pivotal movement about an axis perpendicular to the pivotal axes of the bracket and support member with the strap members.
