Patents Assigned to Nico-Pyrotechnik Hanns-Juergen Diederichs GmbH & Co. KG
  • Patent number: 7475638
Abstract: A training projectile includes at its head a hollow arched cavity or cap that defines a hollow cavity within the head of the training projectile, and that bursts when the projectile strikes a target. Into this cavity are placed a first chemically-inactive marking material and a second chemically-active marking material, whereby both marking materials are released upon bursting of the arched cavity. The first marking material creates, for example, a color effect by means of a colored powder; the second marking material produces a light effect by means of, for example, materials that interact to produce chemo-luminescence.

  • Patent number: 6886467
Abstract: The invention relates to a training cartridge for an automatic rapid-fire weapon. Said training cartridge (1) has a central channel (4) running therethrough which accommodates a propellant charge (6) in the rear area of the cartridge (1) and is closed at the rear by a detonator charge (7) for the propellant charge (6). The training cartridge and weapon barrel are configured in such a way that no live ammunition can be fired from said weapon barrel. The channel which is open at the cartridge tip is preferably used during the firing of the training cartridge to receive a mandrel (28) of a gas choke (22) which is mounted in the weapon barrel (21). The propulsion gases which escape through the opening (8) at the cartridge tip propel the training cartridge backwards towards the weapon bolt and expel said cartridge from said bolt of the rapid-fire weapon. The bolt is simultaneously primed for the next shot.

  • Patent number: 6783616
Abstract: The invention relates to pyrotechnic primer charges produced on the basis of metal powders or metal hydride powders, potassium perchlorate and binders. In order to obtain a homogenous mixture, the powdery components are mixed with a liquid dispersing agent in a suspension with the aid of ultrasound and dosed having said consistency. Mixing for obtaining a suspension can also be carried out directly in a casing receiving the pyrotechnic primer charges.

  • Patent number: 6619211
Abstract: A practice ammunition projectile comprises a head which bursts when the projectile strikes a target and contains a marking agent which optically indicates the point of impact after the head has burst. The marking agent consists of several chemical components (7, 8) which are each contained in separately breakable compartments (4, 5) within a burstable hood at the head of the projectile. When the compartments (4, 5) break open the components combine and undergo a chemical reaction which creates an optical mark. The hood is formed of an optically transparent material to enable the trajectory of the projectile to be tracked.

  • Patent number: 6595139
Abstract: The invention relates to an irritating body consisting of several compartments (6) which are substantially parallel to the central axis of the container (4) and which receive effect charges (8). All the compartments (6) are closed on the upper part of the container (4) and lead to a common chamber (18) which is open at the bottom on the opposite lower side of the container. The chamber has several side openings (22) arranged in the direction of the periphery. This construction reduces the danger of the user being wounded due to inappropriate use.

  • Patent number: 4599946
Abstract: An ignition device for mines, in particular training mines. The device includes a percussion bolt which is mechanically held in an inoperative position and is loaded by the action of a coil spring so that when released it is propelled axially towards a pyrophoric ignition charge to initiate an ignition chain. The ignition device is of simple and inexpensive construction and can be mechanically released by forces acting in a variety of directions. The device includes a cylindrical housing in which a percussion bolt and actuating lever are mounted one behind the other in axial alignment. A plurality of cup-shaped members, preferably a pair, are mounted in the housing so as to surround at least a portion of the actuating lever and percussion bolt. Upon actuation of the lever by applying a force thereto in a predetermined direction the cup-shaped members are spread apart against a biasing force to release the percussion bolt in the firing direction.

  • Patent number: 4592159
Abstract: A signaling device for firing signaling cartridges in an emergency. The signaling cartridges are adapted to emit light, noise and or smoke signals. The device includes a grip which is manually grasped and which includes a firing lever adapted to be pressed inwardly. The firing lever when in a normal inoperative position forms part of the grip contour. When the firing lever is pressed inwardly it lifts off a rotatably mounted hammer from a firing pin. The hammer then snaps back via the force exerted by a spring to actuate the firing pin. Simultaneously with actuation of the hammer the firing lever also effects a rotational advance of a cartridge magazine of the signaling device. Alternately, the cartridge magazine can be rotationally advanced with the thumb of the user of the device. When the signaling device is held in its "natural" position it is vertically upwardly oriented so that signaling cartridges are fired in that direction.
