Abstract: An elongate web of wrapping material having a longitudinal axis and a series of lines of weakening spaced from each other in a direction along the axis is disclosed. Each line of weakening is configured to form an extraction opening for the removal of smoking articles from a bundle of smoking articles wrapped in a longitudinal section of the wrapping material cut from the web. A portion of each line of weakening extends in a longitudinal direction, and at least a part of said portion extends at an angle to the longitudinal axis. A method of manufacturing an elongate web of wrapping material is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of generating aerosol from a consumable is disclosed. The consumable comprises a corrugated surface having troughs extending along the consumable in an axial direction, the troughs being provided with aerosol generating material. The method comprising sequentially supplying heat to selected one or more troughs, such that at a given time, heat is directly applied to the selected one or more troughs by a heating element.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for modulating the alkaloid content of a plant (e.g. a tobacco plant), the method comprising modifying said plant by modulating the activity or expression of a DPH3 Homolog-related peptide. Abstract: A resonant circuit for an aerosol generating system includes an inductive element for inductively heating a susceptor arrangement to heat an aerosol generating material to thereby generate an aerosol. The circuit also includes a switching arrangement that, in use, alternates between a first state and a second state to enable a varying current to be generated from a DC voltage supply and flow through the inductive element to cause inductive heating of the susceptor arrangement. The switching arrangement is configured to alternate between the first state and the second state in response to voltage oscillations within the resonant circuit which operate at a resonant frequency of the resonant circuit, whereby the varying current is maintained at the resonant frequency of the resonant circuit.

Abstract: An aerosol provision device comprises a heater assembly configured to heat aerosol generating material, an indicator assembly, an input interface configured to receive an input for selecting a heating mode from a plurality of heating modes comprising a first mode and a second mode and a controller. Abstract: Circuitry for a plurality of induction elements for an aerosol generating device is disclosed. Each of the plurality of induction elements is for inductive heating of one or more susceptors for heating aerosol generating material in use. The circuitry includes a plurality of driver arrangements, each one of the plurality of driver arrangements being arranged to provide, from an input direct current, an alternating current to a respective one of the plurality of induction elements in use. Each driver arrangement includes one or more first transistors each controllable by a switching potential to substantially allow current to pass therethrough in use. The circuitry also includes a converter arranged to step up an input potential to provide the switching potential in use, the converter being common to each of the plurality of driver arrangements.
