  • Patent number: 4284445
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the correct timing of lot changing in a corrugator. The sum of a finished extent, which is the product of a specified cut length and the number of cut pieces excluding rejected cut pieces, and the residual quantity of a single-faced or double-faced corrugated board on the production line is subtracted from a lot size or length which is the product of the specified cut length and a specified number of cut pieces, to obtain a residual lot length, and this computation is successively performed at predetermined time intervals. The amount of raw material board fed is successively subtracted from the residual lot length, so that when the difference is reduced to zero, it is an indication of the desired lot changing timing.

  • Patent number: 4261784
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing single-faced corrugated board by corrugating a core board, applying a paste to the corrugated core board and then facing the corrugated core board with a liner board on one side thereof, comprises an airtight chamber arranged on the back side of a top roll, a bottom roll and a press roll so as to enclose a pasting unit, air supply means for supplying air into the airtight chamber and exhaust grooves formed in the peripheral surface of the bottom roll, whereby a high pressure is established within the airtight chamber to thereby closely press the corrugated core board against the bottom roll.

  • Patent number: 4261239
Abstract: There is disclosed a positioning head for cutting and marking apparatus, whereby when a plurality of cutter wheels or marking-off wheels are successively moved into place, the positioning head or heads which have already been positioned in place can be locked in place. The positioning head comprises, within a housing mounted on the boss of the cutter or marking-off wheel and slidably fitted on two guide bars, a feed gear threadedly engaged with a feed screw shaft which is extended through the housing, an input gear slidably mounted on an input shaft which is extended through the housing, a group of driving gears for transmitting the rotation of the input gear to the feed gear, and a clutch for connecting and disconnecting the driving force transmitted to the feed gear from the input gear, whereby after the positioning head has been put in place, the clutch may be disengaged so as to lock the positioning head in place while any other positioning head is being moved.

  • Patent number: 4170155
Abstract: A system for controlling the speed of a DC motor so that the material fed to a rotary cutter is successively cut to desired lengths. The speed of the rotary cutter driving DC motor is controlled in accordance with a rotary cutter speed control pattern which is determined by the relation between the length of the rotary cutter circumference and the length to which the material is to be cut. This rotary cutter speed control pattern is provided in the form of speed command signals in accordance with a function output derived by setting the length of the rotary cutter circumference, the length to which the material is to be cut and the cutting distance during which the rotary cutter speed and the material travel speed synchronize with each other. The system also accomplishes the necessary control for correcting any error caused between the speed control pattern and the actual rotary cutter speed as well as the required acceleration control of the motor in accordance with the speed control pattern.

  • Patent number: 4082599
Abstract: A splicing roller device for use in an automatic paper splicing apparatus. The device comprises at least one splicing roller having an adhesive surface and at least one endless belt arranged to pass around the outer surface of the splicing roller and provided with a non-adhesive surface, whereby smooth automatic splicing of two lengths of crude paper is accomplished thus ensuring continuous supply of crude paper to a processing line without lowering of the line speed.

  • Patent number: 3977618
Abstract: An apparatus for uninterruptedly feeding sheet material sequentially from a plurality of rolls. A first roll from which the sheet material is continuously unwound is displaced away from a feed position by swinging a frame, carrying the first roll and a second roll to replace the first roll, around a predetermined axis while the second roll is moved to the feed position. With the second roll at the feed position, the web which continues to travel from the first roll is pressed against the second roll which is then rotated while maintained in engagement with the web, this operation being brought about by a combined pressing and driving structure which presses the web of the first roll against the second roll and which rotates the second roll simultaneously with the travel of the sheet material from the first roll.

  • Patent number: 3971918
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for measuring the number of a plurality of stacked corrugated cardboards. The one end of the stack is scanned horizontally and vertically by a photoelectric sensor, consisting of an array of 64 photodiodes switched in turn by electric pulses, for example, and the outputs of the photodiodes are counted and compared so as to successively detect the flat sheets and the corrugated sheets of the stacked corrugated cardboards. A counting and or a display device are operated in accordance with the order of the results of above detecting operations of the flat sheets and the corrugated sheets.
