Patents Assigned to Nihon Metal Gasket Kabushiki Kaisha
  • Patent number: 5205566
Abstract: A main metallic gasket body is formed by interposing an intermediate plate between two elastic metallic plates, each of which have a bead formed around combustion chambers. The intermediate plate is divided into two pieces, steps are formed by the two pieces, and spaced formed between the pieces are provided with thermal spray stoppers.

  • Patent number: 4836562
Abstract: A laminated metallic gasket provided with two base plates each made from an elastic metal plate and having an annular bead formed therein in surrounding relationship to the combustion chamber hole. An intermediate constituent member is interposed between the two base plates and, directly adjacent and surrounding the combustion chamber hole, is provided with a compensating bent portion which is bent backwardly so as to radially overlap itself so that the constituent member is of increased axial thickness directly adjacent the combustion chamber hole.

  • Patent number: 4815750
Abstract: A metallic gasket, such as for an internal combustion engine, wherein an elastic metallic plate has a pair of combustion chamber holes therethrough in adjacent relationship. Annular sealing beads are formed on the gasket in surrounding relationship to the combustion chamber holes. The beads are disposed closely adjacent so that they substantially overlap in the region between adjacent holes. At the junctions where the adjacent beads meet, the bead width is approximately equal to the bead width in the region between the junctions and in the remaining annular parts of the beads.

  • Patent number: 4799695
Abstract: A metallic gasket having a base plate made of an elastic metal plate formed with a combustion chamber hole. A bead is formed on the base plate around the combustion chamber hole. A subplate having a bead is laminated on this base plate. An edge of the subplate, around the combustion chamber hole, is folded back so as to surround and sandwich the edge of the base plate, thereby constituting a compensating rim portion having a predetermined thickness larger than that of the other portion. When the cylinder head is tightened, the metallic gasket is compressed and deformed. However, a sealing effect is assured due to the thick compensating portion.

  • Patent number: 4721315
Abstract: A metallic gasket including: an elastic metal base plate having a circular bead surrounding a combustion chamber hole, and a compensating portion provided on the inner edge part of the base plate so as to directly surround this hole. The spring constant of the bead increases as the distance from the fastening bolts increases to allow uniform sealing pressure. The thickness of the compensating portion gradually increases as the distance from the fastening bolt increases.
