Patents Assigned to Nihon Plast Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 4464980
Abstract: A blow-molded bellows of a thermoplastic elastomeric material has a generally cylindrical hollow accordion-type convolution section and ends integral therewith. The ends has axial protrusions extending outwardly from the central areas of respective ends. Each protrusion is connected to an adjacent convolution by an integral shoulder which has inwardly concave portions and outwardly convex portions. The concave portions are adjacent to the parting line, whereas the convex portions are remote from the parting line. By this feature of the bellows, the outermost convolutions of the accordion-type convolution section of the bellows can be molded into circumferentially substantially uniform wall thickness to assure improved operability and heat-resistant property of the bellows.

  • Patent number: 4447684
Abstract: An automotive horn switch structure has a contact plate secured to a steering wheel and electrically connected to a minus terminal of an electric power source, a horn spring connected by an electric wire to an electrically energizable horn and having integral contact points movable into contact with the contact plate by a horn button mounted on the steering wheel, and a fastener of a plastic material fastening the contact plate, the horn spring and the wire together. The fastener has a pair of self-locking legs securing the contact plate to the fastener and a pair of spaced self-locking legs which grasp and hold the horn spring and an exposed end of the wire together to form an electrical connection therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4426951
Abstract: An automotive turn indicator has a turn signal cancellation apparatus mounted on a steering column and wheel assembly. The apparatus comprises a boss cover of a plastic material extending around a steering wheel boss and secured thereto and a turn signal cancellation cam having crests at the opposite ends. The boss cover has cam actuating projections integral therewith and extending from the bottom surface thereof and a reinforcing portion integral with the boss cover and with the cam actuating projections and disposed radially inwardly thereof. The cam actuating projections are movable along a circular path about the axis of the steering shaft when the steering wheel is rotated. The signal cancellation cam is operable by a turn indicator lever so that the crests of the cam are moved into the path of movement of the cam actuating projections whereby the cam can be actuated by engagement of one of the cam actuating projections with one of the crests of the cam.

  • Patent number: 4411331
Abstract: An automotive steering column cover has upper and lower cover members both made of a plastic material. The cover members define therein downwardly and upwardly directed recesses, respectively, and are adapted to abut each other along the edges of the recesses to form a hollow assembly which surrounds an associated steering shaft. At least the lower cover member has an integral clip extending therefrom to the steering shaft. The clip has a generally C-shaped free end defining an opening of a dimension slightly less than the diameter of the steering shaft whereby the C-shaped end of the clip can be snapped onto the steering shaft by the resiliency of the plastic material to mechanically connect the cover member to the steering shaft. The lower cover member therefore can be easily mounted on the steering shaft.
