Abstract: There is provided a cutting section for a mower or a hedge trimmer. Such cutting section comprises a pair of elongate guide plates arranged at upper and lower positions respectively and secured at their rear ends on a transmission case of the mower, a pair of elongate cutter bars arranged one on top of another and received in a space formed between the pair of elongate guide plates, the rear end of each cutter bar being formed with a connecting portion projecting laterally and outwardly beyond the guide plates, and a pair of driving members arranged at upper and lower positions respectively and connected with the respective elongate cutter bars through the respective connecting portions, for reciprocatingly driving the elongate cutter bars by means of a crank mechanism.
Abstract: An apparatus for grinding a blade used in, for example, a glass or hedge trimmer including grinder support and a blade mount provided close to each other. The grinder support holds a grinder, which has a round grindstone, in such a manner that the grinding surface of the grindstone can be oriented not only horizontally and vertically but also in an inclined direction so as to meet the action angle of the tooth of the blade; and the blade mount includes a horizontal surface section and a sloped surface section so that the trimmer blade is place thereon when ground by the grindstone held on the grinder support.
Abstract: A power storage type recoil starter used for, for example, an engine of a lawn mower including spiral springs that are wound when a starter rope of a recoil pulley is pulled to rotate the starter wheel of the engine. The spiral spring is coiled up by a repeated pulling action of the starter rope and then suddenly recoiled by releasing a locking mechanism, thus rotating the main shaft of the engine powerfully to start the engine.
