    Abstract: An image stabilization apparatus is adapted, in order to maintain the position of at least one optical member that constitutes an optical system, to control the angle of the at least one optical member relative to the optical axis of the optical system. The image stabilization apparatus comprises fixing means for, when a predetermined event is detected while the aforementioned control is performed, fixing the angle of the at least one optical member to the angle it assumes at the moment said event is detected.
