The method includes inserting a cable holding tool between two rows of computer network cables that are connected to a multiport network device, the cable holding tool having two rows of notches on opposite long edges of the cable holding tool, after the cable holding tool is inserted between the two rows of computer network cables, inserting the computer network cables into the notches of the two rows of notches, after the computer network cables are inserted into the notches of the two rows of notches, disconnecting the computer network cables from the multiport network device, and after the computer network cables are disconnected from the multiport network device, moving the cable holding tool, which has the computer network cables inserted into the notches of the two rows of notches, away from the multiport network device.
