Patent number: 6023026Abstract: A stranded wire rope of the present invention is composed of a plurality of wires. The stranded wire rope is subjected to swaging. A mean wire diameter ratio of the plurality of wires is at most 5%, and a wire gap ratio is in a range between 20% and 35% due to sujecting the stranded wire rope to swaging. The mean wire diameter ratio and the wire gap ratio are defined as:mean wire diameter ratio=(d/D).times.100(%)wire gap ratio=(1-(S/A)).times.100(%)whered: mean diameter of each wire,D: diameter of the wire rope before subjecting the wire rope to swaging,S: summation of sectional areas of each of the wires constituting the stranded wire rope, andA: area of circumscribed circle of the wire rope after subjecting the wire rope to swaging.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1997Date of Patent: February 8, 2000Assignee: Nippon Cable Systems Inc.Inventors: Nobuhiro Funahashi, Hiroaki Furukawa

Patent number: 4669329Abstract: A transmission operating device comprising: a connecting arm of which both ends are connected with ends of two control cables, respectively, and having a first rotational center for rotating the connecting arm in a horizontal plane and a second rotational center for rotating the connecting arm in a vertical plane; a member to be rotated together with the connecting arm, being provided with a splined perforation; a splined shaft being a part of an outer shaft of a transmission, and being inserted into the splined perforation, so that the rotational motion of the connecting arm in the vertical plane is changed into a rotational motion of the outer shaft around an axis of the outer shaft; and a link mechanism being provided between the connecting arm and the outer shaft, so that the rotational motion of the connecting arm in the horizontal plane is changed into a sliding motion of the outer shaft in the direction of an axis of the outer shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1986Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Nippon Cable Systems Inc.Inventor: Kazuhiro Suzuki

Patent number: 4112708Abstract: A flexible drive cable for use in motor vehicles, comprising an elongated torque-transmitting core member; an elongated tubular liner member, make of plastic material, defining an internal passage adapted to receive and movably support the core member; and an elongated tubular outer member for holding therein the liner member; at least one caved portion or cavity being disposed between the exterior of the liner member and the interior of the outer member. The caved portion or cavity can sufficiently prevent the noise which is produced upon engagement of the rotating core member against the interior face of the liner member, from being propagated outside through the outer member, and thereby can provide a flexible drive cable which exhibits a minimum amount of noise upon operation.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1976Date of Patent: September 12, 1978Assignee: Nippon Cable Systems Inc.Inventor: Mataharu Fukuda
