Patents Assigned to Nippon Colin
  • Patent number: 4566463
Abstract: An automatic blood pressure measuring apparatus including an occluding device having a cuff to apply a pressure to a body member of a subject, and a blood-pressure determining device to determine a blood pressure according to a variation in a pulse wave in relation to a change in the cuff pressure. The apparatus comprises a detector for monitoring a blood circulatory system of the subject, and generating signals representing an abnormality associated with the circulatory system. The apparatus further comprises a control device for actuating the occluding device to apply the cuff pressure to the body member, and causing the blood-pressure determining device to execute a predetermined series of blood-pressure measuring steps to measure the blood pressure, thereby permitting an automatic measurement of the blood pressure of the subject when the blood circulatory system is found abnormal by the detector.

  • Patent number: 4561447
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting and displaying a pulse wave based on pulsations of an arterial vessel of a human body, with an improved accuracy irrespective of variations in pressing force of a sensing unit against a body member and/or irrespective of deviation of the depressed sensing unit from the arterial vessel to be detected, thereby providing the user of the apparatus with reliable medical diagnostic information on blood circulating organs.

  • Patent number: 4484584
Abstract: Blood pressure measuring method and an apparatus applicable therefor, wherein a graph indicating the relation between pressure in a cuff which is variable in the measurement process and magnitude of pulse waves generated from a part of a human body under the pressure of the cuff is described, and a mark is given for indicating the cuff pressure at a blood pressure measuring point on to the graph, for allowing judgement whether the measured data are appropriate or not by comparison of the distribution condition of the magnitude of the pulse waves and the position of the mark. Even when noises difficult to be discriminated in the circuit only should be mingled into the pulse waves so as to automatically proceed the measurement, the erroneous measurement caused by the noises can be judged by the above comparison so that the error data can be excluded or cancelled.

  • Patent number: 4308871
Abstract: A cuff mechanism for use with a blood pressure measuring apparatus which comprises a flexible band, accommodating a cuff within the same wrappable (windable) in a cylindrical roll about an arm of a human body, and an air cylinder as a pulling means for pulling the band to tightly compress the band about the arm operated by pressurized air supplied in common with an air bag disposed in the band from an air supplying means. The flexible band is provided with, on occasion, a plurality of cross cuts formed on both sides thereof for better adaptation to the shape of an arm, and the air cylinder is sometimes pivoted to a stationary member swingably with a pin for being variable in the pulling direction of the band for better adaptation of the band to an arm of ununiform thickness and of irregular surface.

  • Patent number: 4262674
Abstract: A sphygmomanometer having a built-in arrhythmia detecting mechanism, wherein the blood pressure measuring portion contains a pulsation detector, which receives pulse sounds including Korotkoff sounds for electrically converting the pulse sounds into wave form signals of the vascular pulse wave and output the same, and a mechanism indicating the blood pressure value by means of detecting the Korotkoff sounds recognized and separated from the wave form signals of the vascular pulse wave output in the above-mentioned way; the incorporated arrhythmia detecting mechanism receives the wave form signals of the vascular pulse wave for comparing the cycle of the wave form signals with a predetermined criterion in order to electrically detect irregularities, if any, in the signals for detecting the existence of arrhythmias. This sphygmomanometer is capable of measuring the blood pressure simultaneously with the detecting of arrhythmia.

  • Patent number: 4141350
Abstract: Blood vessel or vascular sound collecting device (hereinafter simply referred to as sound detector) insertable in a manschette or cuff for collecting the blood vessel sound and supplying the data to an automatic sphygmomanometer, having a hollow unitary space of substantially rectangular shape in plan view, enveloped by a flexible inner side wall of substantially rectangular shape in plan view, and a rather thicker and less flexible outer side shell of substantially rectangular shape in plan view, with an elongated rib integrally formed therewith for preventing the hollow space from being squashed, and a highly sensitive microphone exposed in the hollow space for sound collecting, which sound detector has a fine aperture with diameter to prevent same from picking up noises and being affected by the fluctuation of internal air pressure.
