Patent number: 5009740Abstract: A machine including a control system having a timer for producing bags made from thermoplastic resin films of varying thickness. A pair of feed rollers intermittently feeds a continuous flat tubular web of thermoplastic resin between an upper heat sealing bar and a lower sealing surface. The sealing bar, which approaches but does not contact the web, is heated to effect a weld bead on the web, a cutting edge severs the web adjacent the bead, and the feed rollers advance the web as the sealing bar and cutting edge are withdrawn. A sequencer provides timed control of a motor that operates the rollers and another motor that operates the sealing bar and cutting edge.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1989Date of Patent: April 23, 1991Assignee: Nippon Flute Co., Ltd.Inventor: Takeo Yanai

Patent number: 4915678Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a box forming machine operable to raise folded box material to a box frame, and to fold the edges that comprise the box bottom into a bottom area and to tape the folded edges. The forming equipment is equipped with a box material supply that stores folded box stock material. The apparatus withdraws a piece of box material from the box material supply station by means of a vacuum chuck. The box stock material is raised to a box frame by means of a raise guide and further to a bottom folding station that folds the inner box edges which extend in a direction transverse to a taping direction. Outer edges are then folded into the bottom areas along the taping direction and a tape head tapes together the inner edges by means of a tape head drive.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1988Date of Patent: April 10, 1990Assignee: Nippon Flute Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shigeru Morita

Patent number: 4737904Abstract: A standard-length positioning apparatus wherein acceleration and deceleration of a driving mechanism for actuating a mechanism for feeding a material is controlled by a digital positioning mechanism according to a position feedback. Marks marked on the material are read by a sensor during the deceleration of the driving mechanism, and the digital positioning mechanism outputs a signal for stopping the driving mechanism when it receives the read-in output of the sensor while the driving mechanism is being decelerated. When a signal from the sensor is not received by the digital positioning means while the drive is being decelerated, the digital positioning mechanism utilizes feedback pulses of a positioning detector to stop the drive.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1986Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignees: Nikki Denso Co., Ltd., Nippon Flute Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hirotaro Ominato

Patent number: 4412506Abstract: An adhesive coating machine in which a gear pump for pressure-feeding an adhesive is mechanically driven upon passage of an object matter to be coated with adhesive and ejects the adhesive on the object, and in which after the passage of the object the gear pump is reversely rotate so that the adhesive is prevented from flowing out. A drive wheel is positioned inside the passage of the object and rotated by the object matter to be coated during the passage thereof, thereby driving the gear pump.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1982Date of Patent: November 1, 1983Assignee: Nippon Flute Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shigeru Morita, Masami Furuhashi

Patent number: 4344611Abstract: A device for feeding plate materials wherein plate materials in a magazine are guided toward its outlet and urged in the direction perpendicular to their surfaces by a reciprocating member disposed at the outlet of the magazine in such a manner that it can be moved back and forth to receive the plate members from the outlet of the magazine and carry them one by one on its support surface to a predetermined position. A kicker is retractably fitted to the reciprocating member through a spring so that, when projected from the support surface of the reciprocating member, the kicker engages with the rear edge of the plate material on the support surface as it advances. A rear engagement projection protrudes inwardly from the rear wall of the magazine outlet so that it opposes and engages the outer rear surface of the outermost one of the plate materials contained in the magazine.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1980Date of Patent: August 17, 1982Assignee: Nippon Flute Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shigeru Morita
