  • Patent number: 4850575
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a sintered body with high density comprises: a table having an object to be processed laid thereon; a pressure vessel accommodating a heat element heating the object around and a heat-insulating mantle surrounding the heat element; supply device for supplying to the pressure vessel an extractant which extracts a binder or a dispersion medium contained in the object, exhaust device for exhausting the extractant and an extracted substance from the pressure vessel; pressure device for raising a pressure in the pressure vessel, and vacuum means for evacuating the pressure vessel. The apparatus enables carrying out the three steps of drying or degreasing, sintering and hot isostatic pressing of the object once put in the pressure vessel without handling the object outside the vessel. The object is formed as a compact in the preprocess in advance of being put in the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4850711
Abstract: A linearly polarized light beam is applied to the surface of a film and is reflected therefrom. The beam is then split into three light beams by three or four optical flats. These light beams are applied to photoelectric conversion devices after passing through analyzers with fixed analyzing angles. The photoelectric conversion devices convert the beams into electric signals representing the intensities of these light beams. Two ellipsometric parameters .psi. and .DELTA. are calculated from these three electric signals.

In this process, a structure, which has been provided with strains by the cold working performed prior to the final cold working, will be changed into a recrystallized structure by carrying out the intermediate solution treatment, where uniform and fine micro substructure of dislocations, remain with grains. If such an intermediate solution-treated material is processed with a slight cold working by the final cold working and further with the solution treatment, only a recovery phenomenon progresses, and it is possible to provide such a micro substructure containing more uniform and finer dislocation network not only in grains but also in grain boundaries.
