    Abstract: According to the present invention volatile hydrides such as diborane, arsine, phosphine and the like are made to react with mercuric oxide at room temperature to produced mercury atom, the concentration of which is thereafter measured and the concentration of volatile hydrides is determined in accordance with the corresponding measured mercury atom concentration. As the measuring apparatus according to the present invention is made to measure mercury atom, it can easily detect even extremely small quantity of substances such as volatile hydrides and respond quickly, thus enabling the apparatus to be suitably used as a monitor in semiconductor industry.

    Abstract: A process for producing krypton and xenon. The concentrations of krypton and xenon contained in liquid oxygen are not highly increased in a concentrating column to produce concentrated liquid having a relatively low concentration of methane, which is stripped of methane by contact with oxygen gas in a methane purging column to reduce the methane concentration and the methane-purged liquid is then concentrated at the lower part of the purging column. Then, the concentrated liquid is vaporized and purified by catalitic combustion and adsorption, and thereafter a mixture of krypton and xenon is separated from the purified gas in a second concentrating column.

    Abstract: Method for processing Euphausia superba, a large-sized animal plankton of 15-50mm body length which is quite similar to the small shrimp, Sergestes lucens, in dimension, shape and taste. This method basically comprises applying, to a mass of fresh bodies of Euphausia superba, an appropriate force whereby from the head-chest portion of each body there may be readily expelled the internal organs, above all the liver of objectionable taste, leaving the desired meat of the tail-belly portion within the shell then subjecting the mass of the bodies of Euphausia superba so treated to the steps of heating in hot or boiling water to effect protein thermal coagulation in most of the proteins of the meat portion, removing the juices produced in a gap formed between the shell and the thermally shrunken meat portion, freezing quickly each separate body, without adherence to one another, to a temperature of about -35.degree.
