Patents Assigned to Nippon Sheet Glass Company, Ltd.
  • Patent number: 6035664
Abstract: The optical module has a semiconductor light emitting device, a lens, a holder for the device and the lens, and a receptacle core onto which a ferule of a counter optical plug is to be fitted. When the optical plug is connected, the semiconductor light emitting device is optically coupled with an optical fiber in the ferule by the lens. A step portion which forms a circular opening with setting the optical axis as the center axis and which eliminates coupling undesired light is disposed at a position which is on an emission side of the lens with respect to a contacting position of the holder and the lens. Preferably, the optical module satisfies the following expressions:0.9<.phi./(NA.times.L.sub.1)<1.3 and L.sub.2 <L.sub.1 /2where .phi. is a diameter of the circular opening, NA is a numerical aperture of the optical fiber, L.sub.1 is a distance between an opening end on the side of the lens and the optical fiber, and L.sub.

  • Patent number: 5973862
Abstract: An optical module includes a resin housing having an optical axis, a semiconductor device held in the resin housing in alignment with the optical axis, and a lens held in the resin housing in alignment with the optical axis. The resin housing includes a lens holder disposed in facing relation to the semiconductor device. The lens holder has a lens grip member disposed around the optical axis and projecting toward the semiconductor device. The lens grip member has a distal end projecting radially inwardly. The lens holder also has a lens seat at a proximal end of the lens grip member. The lens grip member and the lens seat are integrally molded with the resin housing. The lens is held by the lens seat and gripped by the lens grip member after the lens is forced past the lens grip member toward the lens seat. The lens grip member comprises three lens grip fingers circumferentially spaced at equal angular intervals.

  • Patent number: 5239302
Abstract: A first inductance element is series-connected into a reception signal path of an antenna circuit between an antenna element and a receiver. A second inductance element is arranged to connect the antenna circuit to ground. These inductance elements series- and parallel-resonate with a ground stray capacitance of the antenna circuit including a feeder cable, so that reduction of gain of the reception system due to the stray capacitance is improved. A damping resistor is coupled to the second inductance element. The system has high reception sensitivity over a wide reception range with eliminating use of a pre-amplifier.

  • Patent number: 4927443
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a curved glass sheet has a glass sheet conveyor mechanism for conveying a glass sheet heated up to its softening point in a heating furnace, and a mold assembly disposed downstream of the heating station with respect to a direction in which the glass sheet is conveyed by the conveyor mechanism, for curving the glass sheet to prescribed curvature. The glass sheet conveyor mechanism includes a pair of fixed rails extending in the glass sheet conveyance direction, a pair of movable rails disposed outwardly of and extending parallel to the fixed rails, the movable rails being movable transversely of the glass sheet conveyance direction, and traveling assemblies guided by the fixed rails for movement between a "standby position" where the softened glass sheet is received from the heating furnace and a "transfer position" where the glass sheet is transferred into the mold assembly.
