Patents Assigned to Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Co.
  • Patent number: 6754960
Abstract: Provided is a device for removing coating on an optical fiber. The device has a cutting depth limiting surface disposed on a receiver body and a cutting blade attached between a pusher body and a fixing block. The cutting blade is made from plastics and has a specified bending elasticity. An optical fiber is inserted between the cutting blade and the limiting surface. During operation, the cutting blade cuts into a covering on the optical fiber. A high precision in arranging the cutting blade is not required.

  • Patent number: 5960138
Abstract: The backplane connector of the present invention can improve the fitting accuracy of the optical connectors A and B at the backplane 1 side and the package 2 side respectively and protect the backplane 1 from damages caused by being pressed against the first housing 3 when the first housing 3 is fit in the backplane 1. In the first housing 3 mounted floating in the backplane 1 is housed the second housing 7 by latching and connecting the latching projection 4 to the latching pawl 10, the backplane side optical connector plug 14 is incorporated in the second housing 7. And, the package side optical connector plug 23 is incorporated in the third housing 18 of the package 2. Then, the third housing 18 is inserted in the first housing 3, and the unlatching part 20 at the third housing 18 side presses down the tip side slope 13 of the latching pawl 10 to unlatch and disconnect the latching pawl 10 from the latching projection 4.

  • Patent number: 5721772
Abstract: In a subband acoustic echo canceller, FG/BG filters are provided in M ones of N subbands into which the received signal is divided, and adaptive filters are provided in the other remaining subbands. In the respective FG/BG filters, during the detection of a non-double-talk state their transfer logic parts output state signals GD-j, GD-k, . . . and their adaptive operation control parts each apply an adaptation condition signal ADP to the adaptive filter in each of the above-mentioned other remaining subbands when a predetermined number or more of the FG/BG filters output the state signals GD-j, GD-k, . . . The adaptive filter updates the subband estimated echo path coefficient only when it is supplied with the signal ADP.

  • Patent number: 5633848
Abstract: An apparatus for reading information by projecting a light beam from an optical head onto an optical disk rotated by a spindle motor. The rotation time of the spindle motor is measured, and upon reaching a predetermined time, a cleaning request signal is sent to an upper order system. The rotation time of the spindle motor is counted by counting pulses generated with the rotation with a first counter stored in the RAM. Upon reaching a predetermined value by the count of the first counter, a second counter stored in a non-volatile memory is updated. Upon reaching a predetermined value by the second counter, a cleaning request is sent to the upper order system for display on a CRT, and a cleaning request flag in a non-volatile memory is set. When the end of cleaning of the apparatus is recognized, the cleaning request flag in the non-volatile memory is cleared.

  • Patent number: 5220703
Abstract: To microscopically clean the ferrule end surface of an optical connector simply, uniformly and securely, the optical connector cleaner comprises a cleaning cloth woven with ultrafine fiber less than 0.1 denier; a casing formed with at least one opening for protecting the cleaning cloth from dust; and a mechanism for shifting the cleaning cloth exposed in the opening for cloth renewing, after the ferrule end surface has been rubbed with the cleaning cloth for cleaning. Further, it is preferable to provide an elastic member under the cleaning cloth for applying a constant cleaning pressure against the cloth and a guide member over the cleaning cloth for securely cleaning the ferrule end surface. The cloth shift mechanism is operated manually by the user or automatically by a motor. A holder jig holds the optical connector to facilitate cleaning of the ferrule end surface. The holder jig supports the optical connector such that the ferrule projects from the holder jig.
