  • Patent number: 6327004
Abstract: A reference picture being as a reference of the replacement area, the reference position of the replacement area and the size of the replacement area has been memorized. Moreover, a replacing LOGO picture has also been memorized. A two dimensional movement amount of a camera is detected by a rotary encoder set on the pan head of the camera, and the detected movement amount is outputted as a movement information. In the picture synthesis device, an address of the reference position of the replacement area in the present picture is calculated based on the movement information, and the replacement area is detected with this address as reference. Then, a key signal indicating a picture in which the present picture and the reference picture within the replacement area are identical or different, and an identical portion between the present picture and the reference picture is replaced with a LOGO picture corresponding to the foregoing identical portion out of the LOGO picture based on this key signal.

  • Patent number: 5973751
Abstract: A picture replacement system for replacing a specified area of an original picture, with a desired picture comprising at least one camera for shooting an original picture of the subject; at least one irradiation unit for radiating a specified area of the subject with a predetermined invisible light ray; a picture generation unit for generating a desired picture that matches a size of the specified area; a detection unit for detecting the invisible light ray reflecting from the specified area that has passed around an obstruction in front of the specified area of the subject without being obstructed; a key signal generation unit for generating a key signal indicating a replacement area of the original picture based on a detection result of the detection unit; and a replacement unit for replacing the specified area within the replacement area with a desired picture corresponding to the key signal indicating the replacement area.

  • Patent number: 5495293
Abstract: An external color frame is synchronized with a local color frame without producing a pixel position error. A frame synchronizer synchronizes a frame from an external television signal with that of a local television signal. A wide screen oriented high definition television signal is used as the external television signal, the image quality of which is improved by adding a support signal to the main screen signal. A memory is provided to receive and store the external television signal and the external signal is read from the memory after a predetermined time passes when the frame difference between the external and local television signals is at least one frame. In this instance, only the support signal in the readout of the external television signal is corrected by a low pass filter in order to match the pixel position of the support signal to that of the main screen signal.

  • Patent number: 5204745
Abstract: On the transmission side, a delay unit, an adder, and a subtracter obtain an interframe sum output by calculating, in units of two frames, an interframe average sum of progressive scanning signals each having N scanning lines per frame, and an interframe difference output by calculating, in units of two frames, an interframe average difference related to moving image data. The interframe sum output is band-limited to a band which can be transmitted with a conventional scheme by switching, time expansion, vertical filtering, and first scanning line count conversion, and converted into M scanning lines per frame. The interframe difference output is band-limited to a band effective for resolution improvement of a moving image in a receiver of a conventional scheme by switching, time expansion, vertical filtering, horizontal filtering, and second scanning line count conversion, and converted into M scanning lines per frame.

  • Patent number: 5182644
Abstract: A first image signal for a screen wider than that obtained by a TV signal of an existing television system is converted to a multiplexed signal that can be reproduced with a receiver of the existing television system, and input to a selector. The selector divides the input signal into a center portion signal and upper and lower black bar portions signals of the screen. The multiplexed signal has a center portion signal as an image display portion and upper and lower black bar portion signals as non-image portions. A difference signal (first LD signal) is multiplexed on the upper and lower black bar portion signals. A rearranging unit, a 5-time expander, a double speed converter, a delay unit, and a selector reproduce the first LD signal from the upper and lower black bar portion signals. A delay unit and a double speed converter double-speed convert the center portion signal. A line interpolator and a selector generate a progressive scanning signal. A 5.fwdarw.

  • Patent number: 5179443
Abstract: A wide aspect signal is band-width limited in the vertical spatial frequency by a V-LPF. The wide aspect signal is band-width limited along the temporal spatial frequency and in the vertical and horizontal spatial frequency by a 1/60-sec delay unit, an adder, 1 1/60-sec delay unit, a selector, a V-LPF, and an H-LPF. A motion image signal can be obtained by an adder. A still image signal can be obtained by the selector. The motion and still image signals are mixed by a mixer in accordance with an image motion amount. An output from the substractor is processed by a vertical shifter, an H-LPF, and a 6.fwdarw.5 converter to provide a still image compensation signal Vh. A signal from the V-LPF is compressed in the vertical direction by a 6.fwdarw.5 converter so as to be a center portion signal which can be displayed as an image with the receiver of the existing television system, and supplied to a selector. An output signal from the 6.fwdarw.

  • Patent number: 4467371
Abstract: For use in pre-editing a video tape, an original video tape is prepared by automatically recording successive scene numbers on a video tape in correspondence to the respective scenes being recorded on the tape. As the scenes are displayed in combination with the scene numbers, those of successive numbers preliminarily recorded on a card in one-to-one correspondence to the scene numbers are marked, which correspond to the scenes to be selected. The marked numbers are read while signals representative of the scenes and the scene numbers are reproduced from the original video tape. Each time correspondence between the marked numbers and the reproduced scene numbers is detected, scenes corresponding to the detected scene numbers are automatically transferred to another video tape to thereby complete the scene-selected video tape. The scene numbers may be recorded on the cue track to be visually displayed as successive numerals together with the corresponding scenes.
