Abstract: The screw comprises a circular thread portion 2a formed in a base portion of the screw, in which a helical thread is formed at the same depth and at the same crest angle; a special non-circular thread portion 2b which follows the portion 2a and has its thread depth gradually vary so as to assume a polygonal shape in cross section and permit the crest portion of thread to reach its highest points A-J in a turn of the thread, the highest points A-J being equal in thread depth and crest angle to the thread of the portion 2a; the portion 2b has its crest angle gradually increase as the thread moves from the highest points A-J to its lowest points along the length of the thread; and, lines connecting axially adjacent ones of the highest points A-J are tilted from the axis of the screw at a predetermined angle so that the portion 2b assumes a twisted polygonal prism-like shape as a whole.
Abstract: A weatherproof system for cargo containers has therein an outwardly open lengthwise channel or groove formed in each of two opposing side edges of a floor panel 1, and the lower portion of one of four side panels is disposed immediately outward of the groove in such a way that a water trapping chamber is defined between the lengthwise groove and the lower portion of the side panel. The bottom surface of the water trapping chamber thus defined is in substantially coplanar relationship with an adjacent seat surface which supports thereon the bottom edge of each of the side panels, and the upper wall of the water trapping chamber is extended outwardly so as to define a water drip or barrier means. Therefore, rain or sea water flowing along the intersurface between the floor panel and each of the side panels is entrapped in the water trapping chamber and consequently prevented from further flowing into the interior of the container.
Abstract: A pedal coupling pin for rotatably coupling a coupling member to a pedal including a cylindrical portion, a flange whose diameter is greater than the diameter of a coupling pin insertion holes formed in the coupling part, said flange being provided on one end of the cylindrical portion and an elastic retaining member provided on another end of the cylindrical portion. The elastic retaining member includes at least one pair of arms which extend outwardly toward the flange end and whose free ends extend outwardly a distance greater than the diameter of the coupling pin insertion holes.
Abstract: A fastener, comprising an expander part having a saucer-shaped head and a shank extending from the head and formed with a male thread thereon, and a fastener part having a flange and opposite stem portions branched from the back of the flange and connecting through hinge portions to guide portions which join each other at the other ends thereof, the expander part and fastener part each being made of a resin, the fastener part having a circular bore extending from the flange to the stem portions to permit the expander part to be inserted in and temporarily retained in the stem portions, the circular bore having therein opposite bulges positioned ahead of the hinge portions to spread the stem portions outward away from each other when the expander part is pushed.
