    Abstract: A rear door assembly includes a vehicle body structure, a rear door and a four-bar linkage assembly. The vehicle body structure has a roof structure and a side wall defining a rear door opening. The four-bar linkage assembly supports the rear door for movement between open and closed orientations. The four-bar linkage includes a rearward member, a support bracket and a forward member. A first end of the rearward member is pivotally attached to an upright portion of the side wall and a second end attached to the rear door. A rearward end of the support bracket is fixed to the roof structure and is cantilevered therefrom. The forward member has a first end attached to the rearward end of the support bracket and a second end attached to the rear door inboard of the rearward member. The first end of the rearward member is outboard of the support bracket.

A candidate vehicle control action is received from the policy of the decision component, and a vehicle control action is selected for traversing the vehicle transportation from any available candidate vehicle control actions.

The electronic controller is connected to the electronic display and the 3-D sensor. The electronic controller receives and evaluates the point cloud from the 3-D sensor generating a 3-D model of detected ones of the physical features around the vehicle including ground surfaces, non-drivable features and driving limiting features relative to the vehicle. The non-drivable features are features that have predetermined geometric relationships with adjacent ground surfaces such that caution is to be taken when driving over or on driving limiting features.
