    Abstract: In one embodiment, a disc brake assembly for use with a rotor includes a parking disc brake and a pair of service disc brakes. The parking disc brake is provided between the two service disc brakes, the parking and service disc brakes being disposable in a circumferential direction along the rotor. At least one component part of at least one service disc brake is used as a torque-receiving part of the parking disc brake. In another embodiment, the torque-receiving part is a caliper. In another embodiment, the torque-receiving part is a carrier. In yet another embodiment, the hydraulic type service disc brake is a floating-caliper type. In still another alternate embodiment, at least one tightening part is shared to install the adjacent side of the service disc and the parking disc brake on a stationary part of a vehicle.

    Abstract: A resin-coated metal foil comprising: a metal foil, and a resin layer formed on the metal foil by coating and semi-curing, on the metal foil, a composition containing a polycarbodiimide resin having a number-average molecular weight of 3,000 to 50,000, an epoxy resin, the proportions of the polycarbodiimide resin and the epoxy resin being 100 parts by weight and 20 to 2000 parts by weight, respectively. In the resin-coated metal foil, the resin is superior in handleability and storage stability in a semi-cured state and, after complete cure, high in heat resistance and superior in dielectric properties.

    Abstract: A capacitor system suitable for charging and discharging of a vehicle such as discharging due to starting of an engine, charging by an alternator, and recharging upon braking. The capacitor system can be a vehicle power source having several connected cells in which ion conductive materials are arranged between a pair of electrode structures with large surface area materials and an electric double layer is formed between the large surface area materials in the electrode structure and an electrolyte of the ion conductive materials. Charging and discharging are controlled for state of charge of the capacitor unit with several connected modules to be within a predetermined range. A minimum charge within the predetermined range is sufficient for the engine to start while a maximum charge within the predetermined range is within a rated voltage of the capacitor unit with several connected modules.

For the heat-resistant short fibers, glass fibers having a length of 10 mm or less are used, and are incorporated at 50 wt. % or more to secure the strength. The heat-resistant resin is made of organic polymer and is mixed with the short fibers in a substantially power form.

The electroconductive resin composition alleviates the problems of the prior art, can be mass-produced, and is superior in high temperature resistance and hydrolysis resistance.

The rubber composite particles enable the fibrous substance to be uniformly dispersed and mixed without forming clumps and without segregation of the hard fibrous substance and the hard particles in the finished article.     Abstract: An electrolyte composition and a solid polymer electrolyte for electric double-layer capacitors are each composed of a polyurethane polymeric compound and an ion-conductive salt. A substituent having a large dipole moment has been introduced onto the polyurethane molecule, as a result of which the polyurethane polymeric compound exhibits a high dielectric constant and retains the ability to dissolve an ion-conductive salt to a high concentration, has excellent adhesive properties that enable it to firmly bond large surface area materials and conductive materials, and moreover has an interfacial impedance comparable to that of electrolyte solutions. The invention is also directed at a polarizable electrode-forming composition and a polarizable electrode composed primarily of a polyurethane polymer compound, a large surface area material and a conductive material. The invention additionally discloses a high-performance electric double-layer capacitor arrived at using the above compositions and components.
