Abstract: Provided herein are composites made up of carbon-enriched open frameworks, and mechanochemical methods of producing such composites. Such open frameworks may include metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), including for example zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs). Such composites may be suitable for use as electrode materials, or more specifically for use in batteries.
Abstract: Provided herein are composites made up of open frameworks encapsulating sulfur, silicon and tin, and mechanochemical methods of producing such composites. Such open frameworks may include metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), including for example zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs). Such composites may be suitable for use as electrode materials, or more specifically for use in batteries. For example, sulfur composites may be used as cathode materials in Li-ion batteries; and silicon or tin composites may be used as anode materials in Li-ion batteries.
