  • Patent number: 10231804
Abstract: An implant is provided with an upper portion in which an internal socket extends. The implant can be tightened by a turning instrument which has first lateral surfaces that can cooperate with corresponding second lateral surfaces in the internal socket. One or more of the first and/or second lateral surfaces is/are arranged completely or partially with friction-enhancing means. The implant and the tool are arranged with interacting parts which extend beyond the first and second lateral surfaces and completely or substantially take up bending moments which act in or on said portion or are directed toward said portion and occur in the event of skewing, or a tendency toward skewing, between the implant and the tool. The arrangement counteracts mechanical stresses in said portion, the latter being able to retain its original shape even in the case of implants with small dimensions.

  • Patent number: 10206757
Abstract: A method and system useful for planning a dental restorative procedure of a patient and for producing at least one dental restoration or product related thereto to be used in the dental restorative procedure are disclosed. Input data from different sources, e.g. 3D data from a CT scan of a patient with a dental impression tray including a previously prepared dental impression of the patient in the patient's mouth, is matched with data from a high resolution 3D scan of the same dental impression. The resulting data is for instance matched by fiducial markers arranged at the dental impression tray.

  • Patent number: 10111734
Abstract: The present invention describes a dental kit-of-parts including an implant abutment, a dental restoration and a screw. The head of the screw is provided in a recess formed in the kit-of-parts, with the screw shaft extending through a hole in the implant abutment. A channel in the dental restoration allows access to the screw head by a tool, wherein the diameter of the channel is smaller than the diameter of the screw head. The dental kit-of parts can be manufactured using rapid prototyping such that the captive screw is formed within the combination of the implant abutment and the dental restoration or through conventional means, with the dental abutment and the dental restoration being ex-situ connected to enclose the screw.

Abstract: A method, system, and dental prosthesis are provided to facilitate simulation of the natural appearance of teeth. The prosthesis can be formed to include a component to which an aesthetic coating, such as a coloring or tint, can be applied. Further, the prosthesis can include a porcelain coating disposed on the outer surface thereof, and on top of the aesthetic coating, such that the aesthetic coating can be visible through the porcelain coating of the prosthesis. During production, the crown can be coated with a metal and/or ceramic powder by means of a powder printer that can be controlled by computer equipment. A practical and rapid application function can be obtained to produce an extremely natural-looking result.

  • Patent number: 9988682
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing bone loss rate, particularly in the field of bone anchored implants. The present patent provides with a method that comprises the steps of: a) quantifying the expression level of one or more markers or ratio thereof related to the activity of osteoclasts and/or osteoblasts in an ex vivo sample; and b) determining the bone loss rate as a function of ongoing loss of marginal bone level by interpolating the value obtained in step a) in one or more calibration curves. The invention also relates to a kit for performing said method.

  • Patent number: 9931184
Abstract: An implant (5, 13) and/or a unit (9), e.g. spacer sleeve, belonging to said implant is/are intended to extend through a hole (4?) formed in a jaw bone (2) and through soft tissue (3) belonging to the jaw bone and to comprise one or more outer layers of principally titanium dioxide. Each layer consists of crystalline titanium dioxide which largely or completely assumes the anatase phase. The invention also relates to a method for production of such a dental implant (5, 13) and/or of a unit (9) belonging to it, which has one or more outer layers of titanium dioxide. The method is an anodic oxidation method in which the part or parts bearing the outer layer(s) is/are applied to electrolyte under voltage, e.g. comprising sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, and the voltage (U) and the dwell time of the part or parts in the electrolyte are chosen such that titanium dioxide, largely or completely assuming the crystalline anatase phase, is formed.

  • Patent number: 9855116
Abstract: An arrangement and an implant are provided for increasing the stress resistance of the implant arranged in an upper jaw bone. The implant has access via parts to the sinus cavity. At these parts, the implant is arranged with a convex or rounded front surface which, upon access, lifts the sinus mucous membrane, without piercing the latter, and thus forms a closed space between the parts and the underside of the mucous membrane. The implant is provided, at least at these parts, with growth-stimulating substance or substances which interact with cell-containing body fluid which penetrates or has penetrated into the space, so that new bone is formed around these parts of the implant.

  • Patent number: 9737392
Abstract: In a method and system for producing an implant, the latter is designed with one or more surfaces extending in the longitudinal direction of the implant. Two or three production stages can be used. In one stage, either a topography with a long wave pattern is produced by means of cutting work, or laser bombardment or further cutting work is used to produce a topography with an intermediate-length wave pattern. In addition, an oxidation process or shot-peening or etching is used to produce an outer layer. When using two of said production stages, said cutting work or said laser bombardment or further cutting work is followed by the oxidation process or the shot-peening or etching method. When using all three production stages, cutting work is followed by laser bombardment, or further cutting work, which in turn is followed for example by the oxidation process. The invention also relates to an implant which is produced using the method and is identified, ordered and produced using the system.
