  • Patent number: 5381721
Abstract: A release unit for launching countermeasures from a vehicle. A first module in the form of a central body mounted on the vehicle. The first module includes at least three openings: a first opening facing the vehicle when the first module is mounted on the vehicle, and second and third openings directed obliquely with respect to the first opening in substantially opposite directions from each other. The directions the second and third openings face are separated by 60.degree.-120.degree.. A second module and a third module in the form of release cassettes are received respectively by the second and third openings and removably fixed by with a locking member. A plurality of countermeasures are launched from the release units. Each release cassette includes a plurality of countermeasure openings for receiving the countermeasures. The countermeasure openings in each cassette are aimed substantially in the same direction.

  • Patent number: 5351597
Abstract: A device for indicating the type of ammunition provided in or on the ammunition unit comprises a distinguishable specific identification allocated for each type of ammunition and made up of electronic device with different electrical characteristics depending on the type of ammunition, including a status-changing element which can change between at least two statuses having different electrical characteristics. A control circuit is provided for controlling change-over of the status-changing element between the at least two statuses having different electrical characteristics, the process of the status changes controlled by the control circuit being indicative of the type of ammunition contained in the ammunition unit.

  • Patent number: 5349333
Abstract: A warning apparatus for monitoring a plurality of threat sectors includes a receiving antenna for each threat sector for receiving electromagnetic radiation, an alarm channel for each respective threat sector and an amplifier interconnected between an output of the antenna on an input of the alarm channel. The alarm channel includes a high pass filter, a rectifier, an integrator and a comparator connected in series, an input of the filter constituting the input of the alarm channel, an output of the comparator constituting an output of the alarm channel. A threat sector activator is connected to an output of the comparator and activated by an output signal from the comparator in response to an input signal applied to the comparator from the integrator which exceeds a reference level, the activated threat sector indicator of the respective alarm channel indicating the threatened sector.

  • Patent number: 5341145
Abstract: In a method for tracking a radar target the imaginary part of the complex elevation error signal is utilized and the value of the complex elevation error signal is calculated for a plurality of frequencies in a repeated sequence. The value change between the different frequencies is used for determining the position within an unambiguous interval and the values calculated at the zero crossing are utilized as measure of the inclination which in turn is compared with inclinations calculated for zero crossings in a general case, whereby a single-valued (unambiguous) interval and position can be determined and thereby the associated elevation angle or target height can be calculated. The method is specifically useful for tracking at low height where multi-path propagation poses a problem in tracking according to known methods.

  • Patent number: 5327153
Abstract: A display arrangement for displaying an image for a viewer on the basis of at least two variables for each picture element such as a picture element position and picture element information includes a first and a separate second display element arranged at a distance from one another in the optical viewing range of the viewer and an element for mutual synchronization therebetween with each display element of the display arrangement reproducing at least one variable. The first and second display elements are arranged along a line creating a viewing direction for the viewer, which essentially coincides with the direction from the viewer to the first display element and the second display element is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the viewer and is carried by the viewer to follow his movements whereby viewing is invariant in space.

  • Patent number: 5271523
Abstract: A dispenser to be used with an air craft includes a body member, and a magazine accommodated in the body member. The magazine is provided with a feeding out opening at one end thereof and accommodates a number of packages arranged in a row extending from the feeding out opening throughout the magazine. The magazine includes a feeding out and separation device provided adjacent the feeding out opening for separating and feeding out a package in the row located closest to the feeding out opening of the magazine. The dispenser also includes air guiding member provided on the body member to guide an air stream in to the feeding out opening of the magazine in order to create a pressure differential at the feeding out opening acting to facilitate removal of packages, released by the feeding out and separation device, from the feeding out opening.
