Abstract: A timepiece illusion device is formed to appear as an ordinary analog watch or timepiece with hour and minute hands. A software application (Illusion App) is provided that can be loaded onto a smartphone or other device. The Illusion App allows a user to provide inputs into the smartphone, which are transmitted (e.g., as time commands, etc.) from the smartphone to the timepiece illusion device. The timepiece illusion device then moves the hour and minute hands per the time command or otherwise performs the relevant operation per the input from the smartphone.
