Publication number: 20240133785Abstract: A robotic platform for a tapping machine includes a sensor, a controller, a wireless interface directly or indirectly connected to the controller, a frame for receiving a tapping machine and a motor attached to the frame for moving the frame with the tapping machine received thereon. The frame is configured to exhibit dimensions and strength to hold a tapping machine, or other machine with a proportional-derivative control, where upon commands provided to it by the controller, the motor moves the frame and tapping machine, or other machine, through the four positions required by the ASTM test methods, under wireless control.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Applicant: Noiseout, Inc.Inventors: Jennifer Scinto, Bonnie S. Schnitta

Publication number: 20160232885Abstract: A rugged noise muffler system is configured to substantially surround sound-emitting openings in a working unit or structure, to absorb sound emitted from the sound-emitting openings. A barrier component, formed as a housing, covers a sound emitting opening to inhibit sound from emanating from the housing, except at an open end of the housing. Each sound emitting opening in the working unit or structure requires a housing positioned over same. The housing includes a hood portion and an elongate portion that includes the open end of the housing. The inner surfaces of the hood portion and an elongate portion are lined with sound absorbing material.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2016Publication date: August 11, 2016Applicant: Noiseout Inc.Inventor: Bonnie S. Publication number: 20150362361Abstract: A sound focusing mechanism for generating a focused source of sound provides for identifying a transmission loss of an object, areas of acoustic or thermal leakage within or acoustic flanking paths associated with the object. The sound focusing mechanism includes a housing having at least one wall formed from a material having high sound transmission loss properties. A sound generating device for generating a sound is located with a central cavity within the housing. An actuator assembly is operatively connected to the sound generating device for selectively operating the sound generating. The sound focusing mechanism is used in a method of determining the sound transmission loss and flanking paths of an object, as well as thermal loss.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2015Publication date: December 17, 2015Applicant: NOISEOUT INC.Inventor: Bonnie S. Each sound emitting opening in the working unit or structure requires a housing positioned over same. The housing includes a hood portion and an elongate portion that includes the open end of the housing. The inner surfaces of the hood portion and an elongate portion are lined with sound absorbing material. The emitted sound first enters the hood portion, is partially absorbed therein and any unabsorbed sound passes into and is substantially absorbed in the elongate portion as the sound travels towards the open end of the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2014Publication date: August 13, 2015Applicant: Noiseout Inc.Inventor: Bonnie S. Publication number: 20150027806Abstract: A noise muffler is configured to substantially surround a sound generating object, disposed in or to be disposed in, a structure including a wall or ceiling to be sound limited by, and attenuate sound emitted from the sound generating object, the wall or ceiling including a board having an exposed surface and an opposite surface. The noise muffler has front, rear, left and right sides and a bottom. The sound generating object is positioned in the muffler cavity. The front, rear, left and right sides, and the bottom of the muffler are formed with an outer barrier layer. At least one of the front, rear, left, right sides and bottom of the muffler are formed with a noise absorbing layer positioned adjacent the outer barrier layer to absorb a predetermined amount of sound emitted from the object. At least one of the front, rear, left and right sides includes a first opening into the inner volume of the muffler cavity, the size of which first opening is adjustable.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2014Publication date: January 29, 2015Applicant: NOISEOUT INC.Inventor: Bonnie S. Patent number: 8827033Abstract: A noise attenuation system is disclosed for use in a structure having a recessed fixture mounted therein or other unit which creates a hole in the structure in which it is secured, such as a ceiling. The noise attenuation system is constructed to permit the absorption of noise emitted into the structure from the mechanism. The noise attenuation includes a noise absorbing muffler positioned within the structure in an area substantially surrounding the mechanism. The noise absorbing layer includes an outer barrier layer that limits the passage of sound waves emitted from the mechanism therethrough. The noise absorbing muffler further includes a noise absorbing layer positioned adjacent the outer barrier layer. The noise absorbing layer absorbs a predetermined amount of sounds waves emitted from the recessed fixture. Additionally, an optional noise absorbing layer, or equivalent decoupling material can be included to decouple the barrier from the structure for low frequency noises.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2004Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Noiseout Inc.Inventor: Bonnie S.
