    Abstract: In a fuel battery seal structure, a gasket has a base portion fitted in a non-bonded manner to a seal installation groove of a separator, and a seal protrusion brought into close contact with a seal groove of a separator. Presser projections and clearance grooves are formed in both sides in a width direction of the seal groove. The presser projections are brought into contact with the base portion of the gasket, and the clearance grooves are positioned in an opposite side to the seal groove as seen from the presser projections. Sum of widths of the seal groove and the presser projections in both sides thereof is smaller than a width of the seal installation groove, and sum of widths of the seal groove, and the presser projections and the clearance grooves in both sides thereof is larger than the width of the seal installation groove.

    Abstract: A seal device prevents sealing fluid on the inner-machine side from leaking to the outer-machine side between a housing and a rotating shaft inserted into a shaft hole on the housing. The seal lip is attached to the inner periphery of the shaft hole to slidingly contact the seal flange attached to the outer periphery of the rotating shaft. The thread groove, which exerts a fluid pumping action when the shaft is rotating, is provided on the seal flange so as to intersect with a lip end of the seal lip. The thread groove is formed so as to have a relatively small cross-sectional area in a sliding area in the seal flange that the seal lip comes in sliding contact with and have a relatively large cross-sectional area in an inner peripheral side area located on an inner peripheral side more than the sliding area.

The metal-rubber laminate material, in which the metal plate and the rubber layer are bonded through a primer layer and an adhesive layer in this order, exhibits excellent effects, such as fretting resistance, when used as a metal gasket in an internal combustion engine for an automobile engine, etc.

The metal substrate gasket is provided with two seal lines and a groove-shaped recess between the seal lines. When nipped, the protruding section of the seal projection is tightly compressed inside the groove-shaped recess in the metal substrate gasket.
