Patents Assigned to Nokia Network Oy
  • Patent number: 6956892
Abstract: A receiver receives signals which are at least partially known and which have followed a plurality of different paths to said receiver. The receiver has an arrangement for dividing the area of coverage of said receiver into a plurality of sections. A plurality of receiving units are provided to process a different one of said signals to identify the at least partially known part of said signal. A controller is coupled to the output of said dividing arrangement for selecting the signals which are to be allocated to the respective receiving units and an interference removing arrangement is coupled to the output of the receiver units to remove interference.

  • Patent number: 6574326
Abstract: A method and a system for reducing transmission of parameters between a-mobile switching center and a service control point in a telecommunication network such as the Wireless Intelligent Network. The mobile switching center transmits a first signaling message containing only a first set of parameters to the service control point during initial call processing. In response, the service control point transmits a second signaling message to the mobile switching center indicating to the service switching point a second set of parameters required by the service control point with respect to the first signaling message. The service switching point then transmits the second set of parameters in a third signaling message to the service control point in response to the second signaling message.

  • Patent number: 6424708
Abstract: A procedure for concentrating subscribers in a telephone network comprising a local exchange (LE) provided with a first exchange terminal (1), a remote subscriber stage (RSS) provided with a second exchange terminal (2), a V5 interface (V5) connected to the second exchange terminal, and an interconnecting feeder (3) between the first and second exchange terminals through which subscribers connected via the V5 interface to the second exchange terminal are connected to the local exchange. According to the invention, a number of V5 interfaces (V5) are connected to the second exchange terminals (2) and the second exchange terminal is connected via the interconnecting feeder (3) to the first exchange terminal (1), thus forming a concentrating interface between the first and second exchange terminals.

  • Patent number: 6392595
Abstract: A method of directional radio communication between a first station and a second station comprises the steps of determining from at least one signal received at the first station from the second station which of a plurality of different radio environment types is present between said first and second stations. A signal is transmitted from the first station to the second station with at least one parameter of said transmitted signal being dependent on the determined radio environment type.

  • Patent number: 6359730
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for amplifying an optical signal and to an amplifier unit (OFA) to which an optical input signal comprising a plurality of wavelength channel signals each at its dedicated wavelength is supplied. In the method, (a) demultiplexing is carried out to separate each wavelength channel signal from the input signal, (b) a first multiplexing is carried out, combining each separated wavelength channel signal with a separate pump signal, (c) each combination of a wavelength channel signal and pump signal is guided to its dedicated amplifier means (FA1 . . . FA4), and (d) the pump signals are separated from the amplified wavelength channel signals obtained from the amplifier means and a second multiplexing is carried out, combining the amplified wavelength channel signals into an outgoing WDM signal.

  • Patent number: 6353638
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for digital signal transmission. In this method, a signal is encoded in order to minimize transmission errors on a transmission channel, and the encoded signal is sent through at least two base stations. A user equipment then receives the encoded signal and the coding of the received signal is decoded. The method is in accordance with the invention characterized in that the encoded signal is divided into separate signal parts having at least partly different contents. Then a specific signal part is indicated for each base station, and the base stations send their specific signal parts. In reception, the information in the received signal parts is combined.
