  • Patent number: 6829312
Abstract: A procedure for the semi-blind separation and detection of digital co-channel signals, whereby after a simultaneous spatial-temporal equalization, iterative projections of the symbol vectors to be detected, in a vector subspace or a symbol alphabet &OHgr; of finite size are initialized making use of a network user identifier IDi. These projections are then used to adapt the symbol vectors Si to the vector subspace and to the symbol alphabet &OHgr; of finite size, making use of the method of least squares algorithm but performing only matrix multiplications without eigenvalue or singular decompositions.

  • Patent number: 6687670
Abstract: A digital audio receiver stores received frames temporarily for decoding and error concealment. A reconstructing block (14) in the decoder reads stored frames using a read window (43) wherein the latest received frame (+cnnxt) is undecoded. Decoding is carried out in stages so that the correctness of the current frame (0) is examined and possible errors are concealed using corresponding data of other frames in the window. Detection of errors is based on checksums (19, 26) and allowed values of bit combinations in certain parts of the frame. In addition, the receiver maintains an estimate (60) for the signal's bit error ratio and uses it to control the operation of the error concealment algorithm.

  • Patent number: 6625588
Abstract: An associative artificial neuron and method of forming output signals of an associative artificial neuron includes receiving a number of auxiliary input signals; forming from the auxiliary input signals a sum weighted by coefficients and applying a non-linear function to the weighted sum to generate a non-linear signal. The neuron and method further include receiving a main input signal and forming, based on the main signal and the non-linear signal, the function S OR V, which is used to generate a main output signal, and at lest one of three logical functions S AND V, NOT S AND V, and S AND NOT V. The at least one logical function is used to generate an additional output signal for the associative artificial neuron.

  • Patent number: 6424843
Abstract: The telecommunication device comprises a speaker (32) and a microphone (33) in order to use the telecommunication device as a telephone. Further it comprises a camera (91, 1101) having a certain photographing direction, and a display (38, 1102) having a certain displaying direction, in order to use the telecommunication device as an image generating means. The photographing direction is substantially different from the displaying direction.

  • Patent number: 6343131
Abstract: A virtual acoustic environment comprises surfaces which reflect, absorb and transmit sound. Parametrisized filters are used to represent the surfaces, and parameters defining the transfer function of the filters are presented in order to represent the parametrisized filters.
