Patent number: 8498253Abstract: A cell informs surrounding cells about an orthogonal resource allocation strategy of the informing cell so as to induce cooperative behavior among the cells. The informing cell also receives resource allocation strategies from the surrounding cells. Each cell allocates its orthogonal resources according to the mutually exchanged information. The result is to reduce interference in the system. For example, a BS informs other cells on which clusters it generates a small interference, e.g., close UEs concentrated into a particular cluster, and indicate that to its neighbors. Other cells would concentrate UEs which are on the edge to the indicating cell exactly in this cluster. This would mean an “overload invitation”, i.e. inviting the neighbors to produce overload on a particular cluster. If a cell sends an overload invitation on a sufficiently large cluster, this will automatically reduce the interference in the other clusters.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2008Date of Patent: July 30, 2013Assignee: Nokia Siemens Networks OyInventors: Jörn Krause, Klaus Ingemann Pedersen, Ingo Viering

Patent number: 8495474Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for data transmission in a data network. According to the method, a data packet is sent from a sender to a receiver. If a data packet is incorrectly received on the receiver, a repeat request is sent from the receiver to the sender. Upon receiving the repeat request on the sender, the data packet is resent from the sender to the receiver. After having received on the sender a predetermined number of repeat requests requesting the resending of the same data packet, a predetermined quantity of copies of the data packet is sent from the sender to the receiver, wherein the predetermined quantity includes at least two copies, or a predetermined quantity of additional information packets is sent from the sender to the receiver.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2008Date of Patent: July 23, 2013Assignee: Nokia Siemens Networks OyInventors: Thomas Haustein, Robert Inderst, Jijun Luo, Fred Matthiesen, Kay Migge, Sebastian Weiser
