  • Patent number: 9641424
Abstract: A network management system can include multiple network interfaces. For example, the network management system can include a first network interface that can receive a stream of network packets associated with users. The network management system can include a second network interface for transmitting the received stream of network packets. The network management system can shape the stream of network packets before transmission. The network management system can assign the network packets into classes. The classes may have a configured hierarchical relationship. The classes may also have an operational hierarchy based on bandwidth usage during operation. The network management system can shape the stream of network packets based on operational hierarchy of classes and configured hierarchical relationship.

  • Patent number: 9491136
Abstract: An intelligent network address translation system and methods for intelligent network address translation. In one embodiment, a network packet is received from a host device, and a stored record associated with the host device is identified. The stored record includes information relating to connection parameters associated with the host device. Using the stored record, a processor determines whether the network packet should be assigned a dedicated address. If so, then the network packet is transmitted using communication parameters including a dedicated IP address. If the packet should not be assigned a dedicated address, then the packet is transmitted using connection parameters including a default public IP address and a port number.

  • Patent number: 9330400
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include systems and methods for injecting content into a webpage at or local to a network access gateway. For example, in an embodiment, a network access gateway is provided for accessing the internet. A user logs onto the internet through the network access gateway and request a webpage. The gateway requests the webpage from the webpage provider. Before the gateway delivers the webpage to the user, the gateway, or a content injection engine local to the gateway, injects content, such as, for example, advertisements or other useful information, into the webpage and then sends the altered webpage to the user.

  • Patent number: 9160674
Abstract: A method of dynamically managing transmission of packets is disclosed. The method, in some embodiments, may comprise establishing a network session over a communication link between a network and a user device of a user and associating a data transmission parameter with the user device. The method may further comprise receiving a packet and calculating a delay period associated with the packet based on the data transmission parameter and delaying transmission of the packet based on the delay period.

  • Patent number: 9118578
Abstract: An embodiment is a method of managing bandwidth, performed by a computing system. The system receives user-selected connection parameters associated with a subscriber device. The system associates a network identifier of the subscriber device with a group bandwidth policy, based on the user-selected connection parameters. The system stores, in computer-readable storage media, parameters associated with the group bandwidth policy, in association with the network identifier of the subscriber device. The system receives, at a gateway device, network communication data from the subscriber device. The system limits, at the gateway device, bandwidth available to the network communication data, based on the stored parameters associated with the group bandwidth policy.

  • Publication number: 20140280910
Abstract: The local network connection system (LNCS) is configured to balance the subscriber network traffic. Load balancing of subscriber traffic can be accomplished by logically assigning each subscriber to one of the available Internet Service Provider (ISP) links. The assignment of subscribers can be based on a rule set that determines which ISP to assign to a subscriber. The rule set can be used to balance the load on the network interfaces, the ISPs, and provide failover options for the LNCS. The system can perform network interface monitoring operations in order to determine if one or more of the network interfaces have ISP connections and are available to transport network traffic over a network, such as the Internet.

  • Patent number: 8713641
Abstract: A system and method for authorizing, authenticating and accounting users having transparent access to a destination network, wherein the users otherwise have access to a home network through home network settings resident on the user's computers, and wherein the users can access the destination network without altering the home network settings and without installing software on the user's computer. The system includes a gateway device for receiving a request from a user for access to the destination network, and means for identifying an attribute associated with the user based upon a packet received by the gateway device, wherein the packet is transmitted from the user's computer, and wherein the user's computer is configured for accessing the home network.

  • Publication number: 20140089177
Abstract: An embodiment is a method of providing services to users. A system receives an XML command at the network system from a service provider system. It parses the XML command and translates at least a portion of the XML command, which it uses to authorize an action. • Publication number: 20140079055
Abstract: Systems and methods of enabling a user host device to communicate on a network. In an embodiment, a system receives a request packet from a user host device. The request packet, such as an ARP request packet, may include a target IP address that corresponds to a static IP address that is different from any IP address associated with the system. In response to receiving the request packet, the system may send a response packet, such as an ARP response packet, with a sender address that corresponds to the static IP address, and with a sender hardware address that corresponds to a hardware address of the system.
