Patents Assigned to Nomix Manufacturing Co. Limited
  • Patent number: 4790483
Abstract: Equipment for spraying a fluid such as a herbicide comprises a support tube on which is mounted a head comprising a body and a rotatable disc. Electrical supply leads and a supply hose for fluid pass to the head through the support tube. The head and the body define between them a narrow annular gap. Fluid is supplied to the disc at a position radially inwards of the gap and flows through the gap to be discharged as fine droplets from the periphery of the disc. The width of the gap is such that the fluid passing through it is wiped circumferentially so that it is distributed around the disc. This promotes an even spray of fluid from all parts of the periphery of the disc. Special shapes for the disc are proposed in order to promote the formation of small droplets of uniform size.

  • Patent number: 4772152
Abstract: A releasable connector comprises first and second elements (A,B). The elements (A,B) have flanges (10,34) which lie face-to-face when the elements are interconnected. The flange (10) of the first element (A) has flexible lugs (12) which carry barbs (14). The barbs (14) engage the flange (34) of the second element (B) to retain the elements together. The first element (A) has a socket (2) within which extends a nozzle (4). The second element (B) comprises a plug which fits in the socket (2) and which has a bore (38) fitting over the nozzle (4).

  • Patent number: 4712738
Abstract: Spraying equipment, for example for herbicides, having a head for carrying a rotatable disc from which, in operation, fluid is delivered by centrifugal force. The head has a first component (4) and a second component (2) which are relatively rotatable about an axis (A). The first component (4) has an inlet aperture (33) and the second component (2) has an outlet aperture (40). The second component (2) also has a recess (44) which provides a passage connecting the inlet aperture (33) to the outlet aperture (4) along a conical element (32) and splines (28). Relative rotation of the components (2 and 4) varies the length and/or flow cross-section of the passage, so as to regulate the flow of fluid to the rotatable disc.

  • Patent number: 4690326
Abstract: A spraying head for spraying material such as herbicides comprises a rotary distribution member (22) and a body made up of a housing (4) and a cap (6) which is rotatable on the housing (4). The housing (4) has a projection (28) which projects into an aperture (74) in the cap (6) to define an annular gap (78). The housing (4) and the cap (6) also define an annular cavity (72) into which material is introduced in use, the material then flowing to the member (22) through the gap (78). Means, utilizing rotation of the cap (6) on the housing (4), is provided for adjusting the flowrate of material to the distribution member (22).
