Publication number: 20140227956Abstract: The invention relates to a valve for controlling the internal pressure in a cabin of an aircraft. First and second flaps supported in a frame control a fluid flow between the environment and the cabin through an opening of the valve. The first flap is supported at a distance from a front edge of the frame and the second flap is supported on a rear edge of the frame. A closing device closes an outflow opening (56) in an inflow position of the flaps, which outflow opening is bounded by the flaps. The closing device is pivotably supported on one of the flaps, and interacts with the locking device in such a way that the closing device closes the outflow opening in the event of a pivoting motion of the flaps.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2013Publication date: August 14, 2014Applicant: NORD-MICRO AG & CO. Publication number: 20130210330Abstract: The invention relates to a valve (10) for controlling the internal pressure p in a cabin of an aircraft, comprising a first flap (11) and a second flap (12), wherein the flaps (11, 12) control a pressure-changing fluid flow (L) between the surroundings and the cabin through an opening (15) of a limiting element (14) of the cabin. in order to increase the inflow volume of the fluid, according to the invention at least one of the flaps (11, 12) is adjustable in the inflow position in respect of the opening (15) in the direction of the surroundings, such that the flow surface of the flap (11, 12) is increased for the air flow (L). Furthermore according to the invention at least one of the flaps (11, 22) has a closure device (21) which reduces an outflow of the fluid that had previously flowed in during an inflow process.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2011Publication date: August 15, 2013Applicant: Nord-Micro AG & Co. Publication number: 20100291852Abstract: The invention relates to a valve for controlling a fluid flow from a first environment to a second environment, having a frame for disposing a separating element in the region of an opening, said element separating the first environment from the second environment, and a first flap and a second flap for controlling the fluid flow through the opening between the first environment and the second environment, the flaps being movable in the frame. The flaps have protrusions designed to reduce noise generation in the fluid flow.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2008Publication date: November 18, 2010Applicant: NORD-MICRO AG & CO. Patent number: 7077383Abstract: A butterfly valve for controlling a gas pressure, in particular inside a cabin of an aircraft, comprises a valve housing (10) having a longitudinal axis (11), a shaft (20) having a rotation axis (21), and a closure member (30) connected to the shaft (20). The closure member (30) is pivotally mounted in the valve housing (10) for rotation about the rotation axis (21) between an open position and a closed position. Moreover, the closure member (30) consists of a first disk (40) and a complementary second disk (50) which abut against each other. The first disk (40) and the second disk (50) are symmetrically arranged with regard to a symmetric axis (31) extending at a predetermined angle of inclination to the rotation axis (21). Such a butterfly valve ensures a restricted cross-sectional area of the valve housing (10), even if breaking of the closure member (30) occurs.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2002Date of Patent: July 18, 2006Assignee: Nord-Micro AG & Co. Patent number: 6746322Abstract: The invention relates to a cabin pressure control system (10), a method of controlling the actual pressure inside a cabin (50) and an outflow valve (14; 15; 16; 17), especially for use in said system (10) or said method. The invention provides communication of actual cabin pressure to the outflow valve (14; 15; 16; 17) and additionally a common data exchange line (22) connecting the components of the cabin pressure control system (10). The system (10) is highly redundant and reliable, guarantees the desired sophisticated pressure control even if one or several components fail and allows complete elimination of the previously used fully pneumatic safety valves.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2002Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: Nord-Micro AG & Co. oHGInventors: Friedrich-Joachim Scheerer, Thomas Willenbrink

Patent number: 6676504Abstract: The present invention relates to a controller (11), a cabin pressure control system (10) and a method for controlling pressure in a cabin (30), especially an aircraft cabin. In accordance with the invention the controller (11) comprises a channel (15, 16) and a pressure differential safety function (22). The channel (15; 16) calculates a first output signal (40) for actuating an overflow valve (17) in a closed loop control based on the pressure differential between the cabin (30) and the atmosphere and additional critical parameters. The safety function (22) calculates a second output signal (41) based only on the pressure differential. The two output signals (40, 41) are compared, and the second output signal (41) is selected, if said first output signal (40) is found inaccurate. The safety function (22) assures operation of the outflow valve (17) even it the channel (15; 16) is out of function.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2002Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignee: Nord-Micro AG & Co. oHGInventors: Bernhard Petri, Christian Felsch, Veit Albrecht, Lars Runkel
