Patent number: 7870944Abstract: Embodiments include a method or a device for a cartoning machine for transferring a leaflet from a first transportation device to a leaflet holder in a second transportation device. Embodiments include a transferring device which is arranged to straighten up and position the leaflets in such a way that the leaflet holders can take hold of the leaflets. The transferring device has a base surface with one or more carriers placed in a line at right angels to the direction of transportation, so that the leaflet, as a result of being able to slide against the base surface, is pressed back against the carriers as a result of air resistance friction against an adjacent cover plate and/or centripetal forces. The base surface of the transferring device is preferably provided with several lines of carriers which are adjusted to match the distance between the leaflet holders on the second transportation device.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2005Date of Patent: January 18, 2011Assignee: Norden Pac Development ABInventor: Peter Johnsson

Patent number: 6845601Abstract: The invention relates to a synchronizing method and transfer arrangement for synchronizing the patterns of movement between two units included in a packaging line, where one unit is driven intermittently and the other continuously. The invention relates in particular to a transfer arrangement between an intermittently operating tube filler and a continuously operating cartoning machine. The transfer arrangement has a frame arrangement (13) intended to support tube pickers/placers (28) and arranged for a pivoting movement about a horizontal axis (16) and for a turning movement about a vertical axis (17). The turning movement about the axis (17) gives an acceleration course for the frame in a position in front of the tube release station, and this turning movement generating acceleration is obtained by an axially acting cam guide (32). The latter is designed so that the tube pickers/placers in the release position are given the same speed as the case conveyor of the cartoning machine.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2000Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Norden Pac Development ABInventors: Hans Linner, Jan Nilsson

Patent number: 6733224Abstract: The present invention relates to feeder assemblies, and more specifically, relates to feeder assemblies for a tube-filling machine. The present invention includes at least one robotic arm capable of moving tubes and tube holders between two locations. The robotic arm may also move the tubes and tube holders relative to one another in order that the distance between adjacent tubes is substantially equal to the holders which carry and house the tubes.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2002Date of Patent: May 11, 2004Assignee: Norden Pac Development ABInventor: Hans Linner

Patent number: 6574946Abstract: A method and apparatus for the end closure of packaging tubes is provided. In one embodiment, the tube which is to be sealed presents an intermediate wall having a surplus length across the tube cross-section, and the intermediate wall is fixed at the filling end of the tube to the tube wall and along two joining locations extending along the length of the tube. A hot air nozzle with two sub-members forming a gap therebetween is inserted into the opening in the filling end, and parts of the intermediate wall and the inside of the tube intended for sealing are heat activated in a non-contacting manner. Apparatus for producing a clamping action is pressed against the heat activated tube end and the intermediate wall. This apparatus includes a pair of clamping jaws arranged for translatory motion perpendicular to the tube axis and initially in a direction at an angle to a line through the joining locations.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2000Date of Patent: June 10, 2003Assignee: Norden Pac Development ABInventor: Hans Linner

Patent number: 6295792Abstract: The invention relates to a device for extending an intermediate wall arranged in a packaging tube's longitudinal direction with a surplus of material as measured between the attachment locations of the intermediate wall. Means arc provided for orientating the intermediate tube's attachment locations to predetermined positions and application means (13) is introduced on either side of the intermediate wall and has means (12c, 12d) for extending the intermediate wall. External welding jaws (15, 15a) are provided at the attachment locations and are arranged to attach the extended intermediate wall to the inside of the tube.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Norden Pac Development ABInventor: Hans Linner
