  • Patent number: 10300505
Abstract: A jetting device and/or fluid module include a module body defining a passageway extending through the module body and also partially defining a fluid chamber, a nozzle supported by the module body, a valve element at least partially within the fluid chamber, a biasing element contacting the valve element and also contacting the module body, and a sealing member contacting the periphery of the valve element and configured to partially define the fluid chamber. The nozzle defines a fluid outlet that is in fluid communication with the fluid chamber. The valve element has an upper portion outside of the fluid chamber that is adapted for contact with the drive pin, and the biasing element is configured to apply a spring force to the valve element. The valve element is configured to cause a droplet of the fluid to be jetted from the fluid outlet when the valve element is moved in the direction toward the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 10279364
Abstract: A can coating machine control system includes a coating control signal that functions as a go/no-go signal based on a plurality of monitored conditions such as can in position, vacuum pressure, gun in position, guard in position and speed condition. Local pressure regulation of the coating material in the spray gun is provided along with optional control of the material temperature. Local pressure regulation allows for optional spray weight control based on a wrap number derived from speed and gun spray durations. A CAN to CAN network buffer is provided as well for primary network isolation. A gun control circuit may be used to select specific gun drive signals and to adjust gun drive signals based on real-time feedback of the actual spray duration.

  • Patent number: 10281074
Abstract: An adapter for connecting a separated-outlet fluid cartridge to a single-inlet static mixer includes a locking portion and a connecting portion. The locking portion has at least one locking element configured to lockingly engage the mixer housing so as to inhibit rotation between the locking portion and the housing. The connecting portion is received within the locking portion and has first and second fluid inlet members configured to be coupled to respective first and second fluid outlets of the cartridge for receiving fluid from the cartridge, and a fluid outlet member configured to be sealingly coupled to the mixer for directing fluid into the mixer. The locking portion is selectively rotatable about the connecting portion between unlocked and locked positions relative to the cartridge when the connecting portion is coupled to the cartridge. Consequently, the adapter advantageously enables dispensing with a separated-outlet fluid cartridge in combination with a single-inlet static mixer.

  • Patent number: 10245565
Abstract: A flow shifter baffle for mixing a fluid flow having at least two components, a static mixer and method of mixing. The flow shifter baffle includes a double divider wall element adjacent to a leading edge and a plurality of occluding walls coupled to the double divider wall element. The double divider wall element includes first and second generally parallel walls which extend across the entire transverse flow cross-section. The double divider wall element is configured to divide the fluid flow into a central flow portion and first and second peripheral flow portions. This division of the fluid flow using the double divider wall element and the plurality of occluding walls improves the mixing of separate components by producing a greater number of layers with less jumbling of the layers, when a layered composition of multiple components is delivered into the flow shifter baffle.

  • Patent number: 10213795
Abstract: A nozzle for a fluid dispenser configured to dispense fluid includes a nozzle body and a valve stem that has a valve tip and is movable in an upstream direction and a downstream direction. The nozzle also includes an annular valve seat that is configured to contact the valve tip when the valve stem moves in the downstream direction, and a resilient annular portion that extends from the nozzle body and is adjacent to the annular valve seat. As the valve stem moves in the downstream direction, the resilient annular portion contacts the valve tip, flexes radially outwards, and thereby forms a sealing engagement with the valve tip, to avoid undesirable additional dispensed volumes that may be caused if the valve tip recoils away from the valve seat following initial contact of these elements.
