Patent number: 7648047Abstract: Apparatus that receives multiple screws serially from a vibrating bowl with a single exit ramp, collects a plurality, e.g., six, of screws and distributes the plurality of screws simultaneously to different tubes in one assembly. A rotary holder having a plurality of notches for receiving and holding screws, receives the screws serially from a feeder rail coupled to a vibrating screw feed bowl. After the notches have filled with screws, the screws are released into a corresponding plurality of exit tubes, where the screws may be fed (e.g., by air pressure) to a screw applicator device coupled to a distal end of the exit tubes.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2007Date of Patent: January 19, 2010Assignee: Norfield IndustriesInventors: Karl Lewis, Gary Hubbard

Patent number: 6561238Abstract: A door preparation station includes a data processing control system that drives a display for presenting sequential series of menu selections that illicit operator information that is used as control data to configure the station for preparing a door for receipt of predetermined door hardware (e.g., locks, hinges, etc.) of one type or another. Based upon responses received at the menu selections, the processing system positions and operates various door preparation cutting and drilling elements for the door preparation procedure.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2001Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: Norfield IndustriesInventor: Charles A. Patent number: 6227793Abstract: A door transport system includes a carriage slidably mounted on an upright column for movement therealong. A swing arm, pivotally mounted to the carriage, carries at its distal end a gripper mechanism. The gripper mechanism is connected to the swing arm so that as the swing arm is moved through an arc to place its distal end over selected ones of door pickup stations for door pickup and transport to a workstation, the orientation of the gripper mechanism remains unchanged.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1999Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Norfield IndustriesInventor: Charles A. Patent number: 5119855Abstract: An apparatus for cutting and drilling stock wherein the cutting and drilling operations are performed simultaneously at a single station. A table having a planar surface is used for supporting the stock. A saw is disposed above the surface of the table, and a pair of drills, each having two drill bits, are disposed below the surface of the table. The saw is pivotally coupled to the table so that the saw may be moved toward the planar surface for cutting the stock. As the saw descends toward the table, a clamping mechanism is activated for fixing the stock in place on the table as it is being cut. As the stock is being cut, the drill bits extend through corresponding apertures in the planar surface for drilling the underside of the stock. After the stock is drilled, the drill bits retract and the clamping mechanism releases its grip on the stock.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1991Date of Patent: June 9, 1992Assignee: Norfield IndustriesInventors: Charles A.
