Abstract: A prefabricated building structure includes a hip roof that is collapsible so that the building structure may be transported from a manufacturing site to an assembly site, such as a homesite, in compliance with governmental regulations related to height and width restrictions on public highways. The building structure with the hip roof offers an alternative to the conventional gabled roof used in prefabricated houses and other buildings. The prefabricated building structure includes modular units secured together to provide an integral building structure, at least two of the modular units each including a collapsible, complementary hip roof system.
