Abstract: A mounting device is disclosed for a portable, expansion-type security gate for children or pets. The expansion gate has a variable width with frictional bumpers on each side that frictionally engage a door jamb or other doorway defining member. The mounting device consists of a socket defining mounting member for each frictional bumper that is secured to the door jamb and is configured to receive and retain the frictional bumper. One type of mounting member is configured to mount on flat surfaces such as door jambs and walls. Another mounting member is constructed to mount on a wrought iron railing. Both types rigidly support the security gate and prevent it from being accidentally dislodged.

Abstract: A portable, variable width gate for doorways comprising first and second gate sections operably secured together in face to face relation to alter their combined width for filling doorways of varying widths. Actuator means for relatively moving the gate sections including a handle engaging the actuating means in one position and disengaged therefrom in a second position.

Abstract: A door for closing an opening through a pet confining wall in a building, kennel, pen or the like, said door having a peripheral frame for mounting in the wall opening, a door member having its upper edge portion hinged to the frame on a horizontal axis for swinging movement of the door in either direction from a vertical closed position within the frame, and a spring tensioned slide acting between the frame and a cam on the upper edge of the door to yieldably retain the door in closed position.
