Patent number: 11839926Abstract: The present invention relates to a blade guide and a blade guide assembly for adjusting an elongate blade of a sawmill, where the blade having a longitudinal axis. The blade guide includes a guide with a blade surface for lateral contact with the blade, a shaft extending from the guide, a shaft block having a bore extending therethrough, the bore dimensioned to slidably receive the shaft therethrough, and a trunnion block pivotably coupled to the shaft block about a pivot. The pivot is orientated generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the blade, and the trunnion block is adapted to be securable to the sawmill. Thus, pivoting the shaft block and, thereby, the shaft relative to the trunnion block, causes the guide to pivot and angularly adjust the blade about the longitudinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2021Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: Norwood Industries Inc.Inventors: Ashlynne Dale, Sebastien Cabrit

Patent number: 8820727Abstract: A log rolling, support and clamp assembly includes a longitudinal frame having a plurality of rollers coupled to and positioned along the length of the frame from a first end to a second end and permitting rolling of a log on the assembly. A log rest and an opposing log dog are coupled to the frame, the log dog being slideably moveable towards the log rest. The assembly is attachable to a portable sawmill and assists in handling the logs after being loaded on the bed of the sawmill. Also disclosed is a sawmill and a kit having such an assembly.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2013Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: Norwood Industries Inc.Inventor: Peter Dale
