A folded literature insert may be folded fewer times so as to be thinner and provide more room for the product in the carton. The ramp or holding portion is shaped to hold the insert in position during automated filing of the carton. The ramp has first and second ramp portions folded on one another, a step extending over an edge of the insert, a landing on the insert, and an edge of the ramp that presses the insert against an adjoining side panel of the carton.

An aperture through the panel or panels folded inwardly adjacent the outer panel allows such direct attachment of the outer panel to itself to effect the enclosure and securement.
