  • Patent number: 5322719
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for manufacturing products such as laminates or thermal moldings. The apparatus includes a first member, a flexible sheet, and a cord and channel arrangement to mount the flexible sheet to the first member to form an enclosed chamber. Valve structure is provided in airflow communication with the enclosed chamber. The apparatus may be used as a vacuum frame apparatus wherein the enclosed chamber receives product for exposure to a vacuum environment. Heat may be applied to facilitate manufacturing. External force may be provided to the product through external mechanical structure or an external pressure greater than atmospheric pressure external of the enclosed chamber. In another embodiment, the apparatus may be used as a membrane press wherein the product is outside the enclosed chamber and the enclosed chamber is pressurized to a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure such that the flexible sheet, sometimes heated, is pressed against the product.

  • Patent number: 4277214
Abstract: A barge loading device comprising a vertically disposed support tower positioned between a pair of barges or the like. A boom is rotatably mounted on the support tower and extends outwardly therefrom. A vertically disposed telescopic spout extends downwardly from the outer end of the boom. A conveyor is provided on the support tower and the boom for supplying grain or the like to the upper end of the spout for delivery to one of the barges. The boom may be rotatably moved relative to the support tower to facilitate the loading of the barges on either side of the tower. The spout may be tilted to either side of its normally disposed vertical position and may be rotated about its longitudinal axis. The combination of the rotatable boom, tilting and rotating spout permits greater areas to be filled in the barges.

  • Patent number: 4065005
Abstract: A device for unloading grain from a grain storage complex to railroad cars positioned on a railroad siding extending thereby. An overhead track structure is positioned above the railroad car and has a crane longitudinally and laterally movably mounted thereon. A vertically movable loading spout is secured to the crane and extends downwardly therefrom for delivering grain to the hatch openings of the railroad cars. The upper end of the vertically movable tube is universally connected to the lower end of a telescopic delivery tube which has its upper end universally connected to a spout extending from the grain storage facility. The operator may move the crane longitudinally and laterally with respect to the railroad car so that the grain may be loaded into various parts of the car without moving the same.
