Abstract: An injection device comprising: a base member (102); a plunger (104) for driving a piston in a distal direction; a driving member (106); and a gear mechanism (108) providing a gearing between the driving member (106) and the plunger (104) such that then the driving member (106) is moved at a first speed relative to the base member (102), the plunger (104) is moved at a second speed relative to the base member (102); wherein at least two of the base member (102), the plunger (104) and the driving member (106) are pivotally connected to the gear mechanism (108).

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for sterilizing packaging material for use in packaging for protein containing products, such as food products or medical drugs. The packaging material is sterilized by irradiating it using a beam of ionizing radiation, such as an electron beam or a beam of gamma rays. Afterwards, the packaging material is processed in such a manner that protein reactive substances or compounds formed in the packaging material during the irradiation step are at least partly removed or rendered inreactive with respect to proteins. The processing step may advantageously be performed by heating the packaging material. Preferably, the processing step involves accelerating diffusion from the packaging material of protein reactive substances or compounds. Since the protein reactive substances or compounds are removed or rendered inreactive with respect to proteins, degradation of the product which is later stored in the packaging material is considerably reduced.

Abstract: A medical device is provided comprising a first a second units, the first unit comprising a housing with a skin-mountable surface, and a transcutaneous device having a distal portion adapted to be arranged through the skin of the subject in a situation of use in which the housing has been applied on a skin surface. The second unit is adapted to be releasably coupled to the first unit thereby, in a situation of use, substantially covering an introduction site of the transcutaneous device through the skin, whereby at least partial removal of the second unit from the first unit at least partially uncovers the introduction site. In this way the transcutaneous device can be protected during use, yet it allows the user to inspect the introduction site.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel peptide compounds which are effective in modulating one or more melanocortin receptor types, to the use of the compounds in therapy, to methods of treatment comprising administration of the compounds to patients in need thereof, and to the use of the compounds in the manufacture of medicaments. The compounds of the invention are of particular interest in relation to the treatment of obesity as well as a variety of diseases or conditions associated with obesity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to syringes comprising a housing (1), a dose setting mechanism in the housing, an injection button (6), and a needle receiving member. By this syringe doses of a medicine can be set by the dose setting mechanism and by operating the injection button (6) the set dose can be pressed out from an ampoule accommodated in the housing (1) through a needle (5) mounted on the needle receiving member. The housing further comprises an accessible compartment covered by a lid (10) or a cap (8) in which compartment accessories (11) are stored.
