  • Patent number: 11801618
Abstract: In a method for producing an implant from a biocompatible silicone, a 3D mathematical model of an implant to be produced is used to create a 3D model of a casting mold for the implant as a negative. The casting mold is produced from a polymeric material through an additive manufacturing process and coated through vapor deposition of a coating material from the parylene family at least in a region that comes into contact with the biocompatible silicone to be cast. A platinum-catalyzed 2-component thermosetting silicone as the biocompatible silicone for the implant is introduced into a mold cavity of the coated casting mold, with a residence time of the implant in a patient's body of more than 29 days. The casting mold is heated to vulcanize the biocompatible silicone, and after cooling down the vulcanized implant is demolded from the casting mold.

  • Patent number: 10980988
Abstract: A stent has a center length section, two end sections, and an elastically deformable woven wire mesh, which enables the stent to expand from a small diameter to a larger diameter, with the diameter of the end sections being larger than in the center length section in the expanded state. The wire extends in a zig-zag manner from an outer end of one end section toward the outer end of the other end section, and back in a zig-zag manner to the one end section. The peripheral direction of the woven wire changes at the transition from an end section to the center length section, such that the wire intersects on the return path to the one end section in the center length section and overall forms an 8-shaped loop having two closed eyes, wherein a plurality of interconnected loops are arranged offset to each other over the circumference.

  • Patent number: 9925076
Abstract: A stent in the form of a generally tubular body has multiple annularly expandable serpentine elements. The serpentine elements have arcs at the first and second element ends which point in the axial direction of the stent. Annularly expandable serpentine elements which follow one another in the axial direction are connected to one another via connectors which are arranged at the ends of the adjacent elements. The connectors extend in the circumferential direction of the stent in the non-expanded state of the stent and have a curvature in the circumferential direction. In the expanded state of the stent, the curvature is so great in the circumferential direction that the connectors project radially outward beyond the circumference of the serpentine elements.

  • Patent number: 8344299
Abstract: A cylinder heater useful in fabricating sleeves for high pressure pump liners comprises a support rotatably supporting a hollow circular cylinder having a metallic powder layer contacting a portion of its inner surface. A vibration sensor indicates vibration of the cylinder, and at least one temperature sensor indicates at least one temperature of the cylinder. At least one circumferential induction heating coil around the cylinder is positionable via the support along the longitudinal axis of cylinder rotation. Longitudinal position and power output of at least one heating coil, and cylinder rotational speed, are adjusted by a controller communicating with the support, the vibration sensor, at least one temperature sensor, and at least one heating coil. Controlled heating of the cylinder and the metallic powder layer results in a stratified abrasion-resistant fused metallic layer on the cylinder's inner surface. The fused layer may be honed to make a liner sleeve.

  • Patent number: 8317243
Abstract: A device for gripping a load structure includes a first jaw member having a proximate end and a distal end, a second jaw member slidably mounted to the first jaw member and having a proximate end and a distal end. Each of the two jaw members is provided with a gripper. The device further includes a fulcrum member mounted to the first jaw member near the proximate end thereof and a flexible element secured to the second jaw member near the distal end thereof operatively coupled to the fulcrum member for causing an externally applied pulling force on the flexible element to move the distal end of the first jaw member towards the distal end of the second jaw member so as to yield a first inward force between the first and second grippers.

  • Patent number: 8312805
Abstract: A high pressure piston for use within a liner sleeve of a reciprocating pump comprises a dual-durometer elastomeric seal having first and second coaxial seal sections and, in certain embodiments, a circumferential bearing ring. Interactions of the seal components, including seal elastomers, result in stress redistribution within the seal which maintains sealing preload, with corresponding improved extrusion resistance and seal durability. When a bearing ring is present, a pump's pressure stroke causes at least a portion of the bearing ring to elastically expand radially to narrow or close the extrusion gap, thus tending to block elastomer extrusion by establishing sliding contact between the bearing ring's external surface and the liner. On the pump's return stroke the slightly wider extrusion gap allows cooling water directed generally toward the proximal flange of the piston hub to better cleanse, as well as cool, the liner wall.

  • Patent number: 8261767
Abstract: Differential coefficients of thermal expansion facilitate close approximation during cooling of a sintered cemented carbide tubular inlay preform (e.g., a first tubular portion) which is vacuum brazed within a corresponding tubular metal hull (e.g., a second tubular portion). Such a tubular inlay preform comprises at least one metal carbide and at least one nonvolatile cement which have previously been compressed and sintered in a predetermined shape. The tubular inlay preform's modulus of elasticity and thermal conductivity substantially exceed the corresponding parameters of the tubular metal hull, whereas the hull's coefficient of thermal expansion exceeds that of the preform. Longitudinal movement of a tubular inlay preform within a tubular hull may be limited by structural features of the hull and/or preform. Additionally, circumferential compression of a tubular inlay preform due to hoop stress in a corresponding tubular metal hull increases as the hull cools after vacuum brazing.
