Patent number: 6101803Abstract: For piecing a yarn end at a spinning station of an open-end rotor spinning machine, the previously stopped feed roller is re-activated for a short pre-feeding period. The fiber beard, which has been thinned out by the still rotating open roller, can thus renew itself. The fibers which are combed during this pre-feeding period are removed as waste when the spinning rotor is at a standstill. After completion of the pre-feeding period, the feed roller is rotated in reverse so far back until the fiber beard leaves the area of effect of the opening roller. The feed roller is activated again for the actual piecing process.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1999Date of Patent: August 15, 2000Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventors: Gerd Stahlecker, Hans Braxmeier

Patent number: 5950415Abstract: A flexible sealing ring is arranged at an opening roller of an open-end spinning machine which rotates in a chamber of a housing connected to a vacuum source, which sealing ring is supported concentrically to the opening roller in the housing. In order to seal the chamber against the open atmosphere, the sealing ring comprises a sealing lip, to which a sealing surface of a collar of the opening roller is arranged. The sealing ring is disposed, under the action of the pressure drop present between the open atmosphere and the chamber, on a stopping surface which determines the operational position of the sealing ring, which stopping surface is itself arranged preferably at the housing, while, however, in some embodiments, it is arranged at the opening roller itself. The sealing lip defines the smallest diameter of the sealing ring, which is larger than the diameter of the combing structure of the opening roller.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1998Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventor: Gerd Stahlecker

Patent number: 5943853Abstract: The adjacently arranged spinning aggregates of an open-end spinning machine are each provided with an opening device, which includes a removal opening for trash particles. A channel extending in the machine longitudinal direction takes up the trash particles. A sliding carriage traverses in the channel, which sliding carriage is coupled to a belt-like traction mechanism and which pushes the gathered trash particles ahead of itself to a suction point. The channel is wider than the distribution area of the trash particles in this direction. A clearance area occurs hereby in the channel, in which the traction mechanism extends.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventor: Gerd Stahlecker

Patent number: 5927638Abstract: Traversing rods for yarn traversing devices on textile machines producing cross-wound packages extend over a plurality of winding points and are subjected alternately to tension and compression. The traversing rod is driven at one end by a traversing drive, and at the other end is connected to an energy storer for aiding its return of motion, which energy storer is effective in both directions of movement. As long traversing rods are continually subjected to length changes, which impede the correct build up of the packages, the return motion points of the traversing rods relative to the position of the energy storer are continuously monitored by a measuring device. The energy storer is connected to an adjusting device coupled with the measuring device and thus automatically adjustable.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1998Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventor: Gerd Stahlecker

Patent number: 5718110Abstract: In the case of a device for open-end rotor spinning with a spinning rotor, the spinning rotor is provided with a fiber collecting groove and a fiber sliding surface. The fiber sliding surface is provided with structured areas which are set in the opposite sense of rotation to the spinning rotor, viewed in the direction towards the fiber collecting groove. The mouth of a fiber feed duct is disposed facing the structured areas with a component in the sense of rotation of the spinning rotor. Due to the way they are arranged, the structured areas, which cross the path of the fibers, exert a propelling force on the fibers in the direction of the fiber collecting groove. The sliding of the fibers into the fiber collecting groove does not take place exclusively by means of the centrifugal forces anymore, so that in design the traditional angle of taper of the fiber sliding surface is not necessary.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1996Date of Patent: February 17, 1998Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventor: Gerd Stahlecker

Patent number: 5603468Abstract: A tube coupling system for spindles of spinning or twisting machines is provided with two through bore holes arranged at right angles to each other, slightly spaced in an axial direction of a spindle upper part. Two retractable, substantially cylindrical, centrifugal bodies are set in each through bore hole, the centrifugal bodies lying diametrically opposite each other on the outer circumference of the spindle upper part. Directly adjacent of a convex-shaped tube coupling surface, the centrifugal bodies have a conical shoulder arranged on a corresponding opposite surface of the spindle upper part to stop the centrifugal body from falling out. The opposite surface is formed during assembly of the tube coupling system by plastic deformation, whereby the diameter of the though bore holes on the outer circumference of the spindle upper part is reduced somewhat. The advancing of the coupling surfaces against the tube is not hindered during spinning.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1995Date of Patent: February 18, 1997Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventors: Hans Stahlecker, Gerd Stahlecker

Patent number: 5584170Abstract: In the case of a method for closed-loop controlling the revolutions of an open-end spinning rotor during automatic piecing, the spinning rotor is run up to its operating speed from a standstill by being coupled to a tangential drive belt, which runs at operating speed. The spinning rotor thereby passes through a suitable speed range for piecing, and is kept at this speed range for a predetermined time span by changes in the driving effect of the tangential drive belt. This occurs in that the revolutions of the spinning rotor are measured, and dependent on these readings, the revolutions are closed-loop controlled by device of reducing and increasing the driving effect, for example by device of intermittent activating of the rotor brake.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1995Date of Patent: December 17, 1996Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventor: Gerd Stahlecker
